Yesterland
I just came across an excellent website. I am a big fan of the old "Disney" (as well as everything new). This site spotlights all older Disneyland attractions that I remember when traveling when I was younger, such as "Inner Space", are pictured, telling the history and why it closed. And some not so old like Rocket Rods! This sight is really cool, if your interested in this side of Disney.
www.YESTERLAND.com I think it's worth a click Den :)

I really enjoyed the "Widen Your World" site. The pagemaster's writing style is very clever. Thanks for sharing!

I went to Epcot in 1986, and rode Journey into the imagination, Horizons, and different things. Then I went back in 1992. I loved Epcot, and I taped a lot of the rides. But I'm confused about one. I always thought it was horizons, but maybe some of you can tell me for certain. It was the one that at the end you pushed a button, and saw a screen. You decided the ending you saw. I remember loving that ride, but I also remember when I went in 92, there were no lines for it at all. It seemed really dead. In 86 I felt like I had to wait forever. Can anyone tell me what it was, and why the whole building is gone now?

Thanks for posting that site! It was interesting...I always wanted to find out what happened to the Rocket Rods. My family was there until May 21, 1998...the day before they opened, so we saw them being tested. We haven't been back to DL since, so obviously we never got to ride them.
I'm going to send this link to my dad--he will really enjoy reading about all of the things that used to be there when he was a kid!

As being a BIG FAN of Horizons (remember the oranges) I always thought the ending was a bit lame for Disney Standards. If you do not recall, the majority of the vote won the destination you would fly through, sea, dessrt, or space. It vibrated a bit with fans blowing on you with poor movie qualtity. On a side note this ride was sposored by GE for awhile, and they had there logo at the end, but it was said that this family was a continuation of the GE Carousel of Progress family. Another interesting note, the man in the undersea video getting ready to dive, is now the VP of imagineering.
And rocket rods, yes, I never knew either why it had closed, I have a picture of my family on it and, a child swap pass, destined to be a colletable? Den:)
