"It's a Small World After All"

Something happened recently, that I wanted to share with everyone here on the boards.

First off, I guess I need to thank DisneyAnne, because if she hadn't had the chat, I might have gone a really long time not finding this out....or maybe never finding it out

We were in a chatroom the other night, and Teresadisney joined for the first time. We started chatting, and I mentioned to her that I was moving to Arkansas in the next week. She told me she had family in Arkansas and asked if we'd ever heard of the Legend of Boggy Creek, so I told her "I have! My roommate in College used to live in that town" I ended up telling her, her last name (I cant' remember if I told her her first name), anyway, she said she had cousins with that name. Long story made short, Her cousin was my roommate!!!...and to add to that, one of her Favorite Cousins, was my husbands Fraternity Brother in College! I couldn't believe it! We haven't seen or heard from any of them in about 14 years, it was so exciting! She gave me their e-mail, and told them what had happened, so I e-mailed them. I couldn't believe it. I wanted to say THANK YOU DISNEY CENTRAL!!! :D Because if it hadn't been for this board, I don't know if we'd ever have met up again.

Just goes to show.....It really IS a small world after all! :) :heart :love:

I agree, it's such fun to find old friends again. And it is very cool that it happened because of DC, even more cool that it was because we started having chats on DC. :o :whistle:

I'm so glad to hear of something good coming from those chats. ;) They are always alot of fun!

BTW, thank WDWspider for actually starting them. It was his idea... I just kept making everyone go when he was on hiatus... LOL! :D

That's a cool thing to have happen! I can just imagine when we all get together next February something like this happening to some of us!!!

Thanks everyone. As of today I haven't heard back from them, but, my e-mail name isn't like my real name, so I'm kind of worried my e-mail went to their junk mail, and if they're like me....I empty folder :whistle: Teresa, you'll have to tell them I sent them an e-mail. If they didn't get it I might need to send another one. I used to open junk mail, I would see a name, and the title looked legit, but after so many of those e-mails, I quickly learned to dump the spam. Since they wouldn't know my e-mail, they wouldn't know it was from me. I'll let everyone know when I do talk to them though. Teresa, tell them it's pamawest so they know. Thanks :)

Thanks Jamie for the chatting idea. I didn't realize who's idea it had been. Thanks again.

What a cool story, Goofette! I hope you get in touch with them...that would be GREAT to have your old friends near you when you move! Boy, do you all have A LOT to catch up on...14 years!!! And you have DC to thank for it! ;) :D

I Just heard back from them! I got another e-mail address for my old college roommate also, and I e-mailed her this evening. This is still so unbelievable :D I haven't talked to my husband this evening, so I'll be telling him tomorrow. I don't know if he'll be able to e-mail them until I get down there with the computer. He has our other computer down there, but for some reason the internet isn't working with it.

Anyway, just wanted to update you all. :) :)
