Calling All Illinois and Midwest DCers

Calling all Illinois and Midwest Dcers!

On Saturday, November 22nd in Downtown Chicago, the
"Magnificent Mile Lights Festival" will take place!

This consists of a mini-Disney stage show
(20 min. or so, usually 2 performances) and an evening parade that will include many of our favorite Disney characters.

SO....I contacted DisneyTeacher(coming in from Springfield on the train, b.t.w.) and we're planning on doing a "Meet and Greet"
that day for ANY and ALL local DCers who would like to join the fun!

:) We will vote on a place in Downtown Chicago to meet and have lunch or dinner then see the parade! A couple ideas so far are Rainforest Cafe and ESPN Zone(we're so lucky here too!)

We will be bringing our families, but solo Dcers are certainly welcome too ...after all, your "DC" family will be there!;)

I don't know what times the shows are yet, but the parade begins at 6:00pm...like any Disney parade we should line up EARLY!

GREAT IDEA!!! Wish I could get up there... if we didn't have our big rivalry game that night...I would seriously hop a flight.

I hope our DCers will take a great opportunity to get together! Keep us all posted on how it works out....:heart

I found this site to help find hotel info. Look at it and see if you can find a place that fits your needs and we can look at booking rooms at the same hotel to make the weekend even better.

I hope this meet happens, it could be the first of many. We are already talking of a summer meet at a Chicago Cubs game.

We will be close to Chicago on November 8th. We are going to South Bend, IN. Unfortunatly getting up that way two weeks later is impossible for us.

I wish we could be there. I have never heard of this Parade. It sounds pretty fun. I have heard Chicago has more parade permits than any other city in the country. Is this true?

The parade sounds like a good time, If you guys don't mind a "I don't know what is going on, but will try to make it tag-along" I don't want to invite myself, but I am, sorry:nervous

Jacki and GrumpyDad, we would live to meet you. No tag alongs, just DC friends. Amy is going to be so excited, this was her idea!!

Sounds great to me. My husbands doesn't work on the weekend so I can ask him to take my son and I there. My vote is for Rainforest Cafe! Looking forward to meeting all and seeing the
parade.

HeeHee, ArielBelle!!! I am feeling the same way!!! Hey, maybe you should add another "Going To Disney..." counter to your signature...even if it's a year or two from now, it still shows you that you are GOING to WDW! Even if it isn't soon enough!!! :dazed :whistle: :dazed :whistle:
