christmas tips, please

Hello fellow Disney World Lovers,

We have gone to wdw three times in four years in September.
It has always been wonderful with small crowds. Well, this year we are taking the big plunge and going from Dec 24 through Jan 1.
We know this is probably insane, but we are ready to handle the madness. This time, we don't have to see every single attraction, just a few favorites and, of course, the couple of new ones.
What I need to ask some Holiday veterans is, Just how is the weather? Are the decorations as fantastic as they say? Does anyone have tips for getting the most out of this time at the parks?

Thanks and Go Happy.

Papa, Chickadee, Yzma, and OyBoy.

Welcome to DisneyCentral. You will love WDW at Christmas. Yes, the decorations are great, in the parks and at the resorts. Make sure you take time to see the Candlelight Processional, and some of the other special Christmas activities throughout the parks.

It will be crowded, but if you going in expecting that, you should be ok. Make sure you show up at the parks at opening, take a break during the afternoon, and then head back for ther rest of the day. I have always found that the lines for the rides are the shortest during the parades.

My other suggestion is to take advantage of all the things to do at your resort and the other resorts. Take time to explore all of the deluxe resorts. Watch the water parade from the Polynesian Beach, or the fireworks from the Grand Floridian.

The weather should be nice, about 80 during the day. You may get caught in a cold front, and get rain and temperatures in the 50's, but that doesn't happen too often.

Welcome to DC. Yes,the parks and resorts are fabulously decorated. I think you have the right attitude for going during Christmas week. If you make a list of maybe 5 must-see attractions at each park and accomplish those, then everything else will be a marvelous bonus. I would also bring warm and cold weather clothes, because the temperature can vary greatly from day-to-day. I would also call WDW NOW to see about any priority seating arrangements you want to make for Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.

The decorations are indeed as fantastic as everyone says. In the past, each country in the World Showcase has their version of Santa Claus or their Christmas spirit. In China, they have a Cat man....I can't remember exactly what he is called, but he is very entertaining and tells great stories. We always pack clothes we can layer, in case the weather does turn cool. As mentioned earlier, the Processional is a must see. I usually pack at least one sting of Christmas lights to string around the room to make it more festive. Hope you have a wonderful holiday there and share the memories with those of us who aren't getting to be there.
