anyone else feel this way?

The first morning at WDW when we got on that first bus going over to Mk, where we got on the monorail to go to chef mickey's for breakfast ... I turned to my husband right after we sat down on the bus and said "I feel like I am home" .. he said he did to. Does anyone else feel this way .. Just being on the bus .. just being on Disney property .. feels like your home ..sometimes better then home really. Its a feeling like this is where I belong leaving is always so sad for us.

Oh yea...

I definetly feel that way. No other place makes me feel more at home than WDW. I get the feeling of I'm where I belong almosts as soon as I get on Disney property and I see the purple street signs. Many think I'm crazy, but I don't care. It's a feeling I can't quite explain, but judging by this post, at least I'm not the only one that feels this way. :D

I definitely. Nothing describes the feeling on the first morning to the parks. It truly is a sense of home. Nothing could get the smile off my face. It's something only Disney can provide. It almost sounds crazy, but just riding on a bus puts a smile on my face because it reminds me of all the disney busses. Not to mention riding the monorail and seeing the magic kingdom in the distance and the mountains rising above the trees. It's just a wonderful feeling.

Oh me! I do! I do! I drive my boys crazy when I walk down Main Street on our first day, smiling through my tears. :) My daughter always wants to know what's wrong but my boys just roll their eyes and tell her that "Mom has happy tears!"

Oooh, me too! For me, as soon as I'm on Disney property and I get a whiff of Disney air, I'm ecstatic!

It's all about the smells - walking down Main Street in the MK and smelling the baked goods (yeah, I know it's not a real smell, but hey!), the smell of the sun-baked asphalt, the smell of my hotel room, the smells of those wonderful raspberry coladas at the AKL pool bar, the general smell of excitement radiating from each and every person down there...

I could go on and on, but those are some things that do it for me. I love Disney World! :D

Who doesn't feel that way? I get the feeling just looking at pics on the net of WDW and everything in it! My boyfriend has never been to WDW, and when we arrive in August, I can't wait to see his reaction and his excitement! It truly is the happiest place on Earth!

well I know its hard to believe ..but there are people that go to WDW and dont think its the most wonderful place in the world .. and they dont care if they ever go back .. My sister lives in jacksonville florida ..and she hardly ever goes ( 3 times in 8 years ) .. and when she does its only to MK she has never been to Epcot ..never stayed at a resort on-site .. never been to MGM .. she perfers Universal .. ( shiver) I aint really sure she is my sister ..it is possible they switch babies ..after all it was a military hospital ..we all know how easy they can mess things up :D

I know what you mean about feeling like "I'm Home" Disneys CM's also have a lot to do with that. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. It really adds to it. Can you imagine Disney without the friendly CM's? It wouldn't be Disney.

Talking about the smells...I loved walking into AKL, there is just some really wonderful smells and our room was RIGHT above Boma...oh...that was Heaven. It always smelled so wonderful in the evenings sitting out on the balcony.

I totally agree! I get a little condition I call "perma-grin" every time I pass through the gates. I just can't stop smiling. The pathetic part is that I always cry the second I get back on the turnpike. Then I wonder why everyone thinks I'm nuts. LOL

When we checked out this time, I was walking down the hall behind the bell boy. I felt this horrible sadness and I was trying not to cry, but before I knew it, the tears welled up in my eyes and my heart just hurt. I don't think I've ever done that on vacation before.....Only Disney. Then the really sad thing, hours on the road I look back and DD has tears just streaming down her face...I thought she wasn't feeling good and asked her if she was ok, then the flood gates opened. She cried and cried, which in turn started me crying. Hubby thought we were crazy. He was actually ready to come home. So DD and I decided next time we'll fly out and have those extra days while he can drive there. :)

I live in Jacksonville, and I hate to go home after even just one day... I call my Day trips "My Disney Fix" I guess you could not get any more crazy than that.... LOL... I have learned not to cry now though. Since we try our best to get there at least once a month... It makes our AP worth lots of money to us...:dazed  :dazed
:heart :) :heart Judy

I get that feeling every time I drive through those entrance gates! A calmness comes over me that I can't describe. It just feels right. :)
