John Ridder just started a new TV sitcom a year ago and was the voice for PBS kids show Clifford The Big Red Dog.

I like Clifford.

I liked Johnny Cash too. I still have the live at Folsom Prison 8 track. My favorite song was Ring of Fire when I was growing up, and then Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down was my dad's.

John Ritter is the voice of Clifford??? I watch this nearly every day (23 month old son...go figure) and it doesn't sound like him to me!!! Maybe a bit SIMILAR, but I never would have guessed!

He was only 55 years old...what a shame!!!

Such sad news... having grown-up in Nashville, I can tell you that the death of Johnny Cash is a major loss. I am NOT into country music at all, but the respect I have for him and what his career has meant to my "hometown" is huge.

No more Jack Tripper? UGH! John Ritter has always been good for a laugh... remember when he would act gay in front of Mr. Furley so the living arrangement wouldn't be disrupted?

We seem to be losing quite a few entertainers recently...

I had not heard this. I wondered why I heard Johnny Cash on the radio this morning as it was not a country station. What happened to John Ritter. I really like his show that is on ABC now.

The world will miss Johnny Cash deeply. While I consider myself a rocker and roller, his music was special to me. As a young boy I had occasion to live with my Grandmother in Phoenix, AZ for a while. It was a difficult time and I spent much of it with the HUGE cabinet sterio system she owned ( no TV ). She had a large selection of classical music and Polka tunes, not really anything a rebelious youth could get into. One day she came home from work with two Johnny Cash albums, Ring Of Fire and I Walk The Line. I must have listened to them a thousand times. To this day when I hear a song from one of those records I can still remember the words and tune and inevitably I will begin singing along.

He was a true pioneer and a good soul, may he find his June and eternal peace.

Wow....I can not beleive the news about John Ritter. I haven't tuned into the news today. I have always liked his shows and movies. He was on such a come back trail with the new ABC show.

Hey Anne, you mentioned him playing a gay guy in Three's Company. Did you ever see Slingblade? He was great in this movie. He played a serious acting role as a gay man who was friends with the Billy Bob Thorton character.

I'll truly miss both of them. Growing up my father (who was my idol!) loved country music, therefore I did. I loved the old country artists like Johnny Cash, Charley Pride, Tex Ritter (yep, John's dad!). Johnny Cash had some hard knocks in his life, but I truly believe had a firm faith in God.

And John Ritter!!! I always loved 3's Company, & recently we really enjoyed 8 Simple Rules. Did anyone see the episode where he kind of flashed back to the 3's Company thing??? Hilarious! What a shame...& so young, too! Just goes to show...none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow!

LRTJS,

John Ritter was on the set of his show when be fell ill yesterday....apparently, he suffered from an aortic tear that went undiagnosed....what an awful shame. He was so much fun to watch! Such a goofy guy in Threes Company...he will definately me missed...and also as the voice of Clifford...my dd loves Clifford!

Thanks for the information. It is a tragedy. You never know from one minute to the next what life will bring.

What a sad day. I heard about both deaths on the news this morning and was truly shocked. How sad for both families. John Ritter was so young, his 4 children and the rest of his family are in my prayers. 55 years is just not enough time.
