You know you're really going when....

Well it happened today. You know what I'm talking about. The first rush of excitement for an upcoming Disney trip. The actually "little kid on Christmas morning" goose bumps and the grin that just days "Disney". I have been going over and over dates, hotels, airfare...etc for the last week. My DD and I were going to go in October 2004 for the MNSSHP but when I started playing with the figures, I can go for almost half that in January!!! I'm no math godess but, half is good.:D I have talked about a savannah room at AKL in other posts. I had a wonderful quote and was definately going. Still, no rush of excitement. Well, at exactly 8:01am this morning I put down my deposit and could hardly hear my reservation number. All I heard was the Cinderella music and all I felt was the rush of RnR. It only a little over 100 days away!!!!! WooHooo!!!

When do you all get that rush? What one thing makes you realize that it is true..you are going to the best place on earth?

Iluv - thanks for saying that. It is, for me too. When I book airfare, I feel glad, but that CRT rush is a riot. It's become a family tradition for us and when we don't go, it seems incomplete, like not heading to MK the first day we are there.

I'm a product of a marketing genius.

I have it so bad now the next three weeks seem like 3 years to me! I am waiting for my package in the mail. Every day since the final payment I rush home from work to see if it is there. I just can't wait to be there! I hope I am not building up staying on property too much. It has been something I have wanted to do for over 20 years!! Less than 20 days now! :) :) :) :D :D

I feel the rush almost every second of everyday, right now. I don't know how I'm going to make it through work tommorow and Thursday, hopefully my schedule will be really, really busy.

When I first get my trip booked is probabally the first "rush", then with each payment, then everytime I look at on of my posts on Disney Central, and see the countdown going down, down:D

I CANT WAIT!!!:D :D :D

We have stayed both on and off property and ON is wonderful. The magical disney feeling is always there. You will love it!:heart I know what you mean though. You build something up so much that it cannot live up to your expectations. I sometimes do this but I don't think you have anything to worry about!:) Where are you staying?

I was receiving something in the mail every few days from disney about our trip and that was really exciting, especially for the kids. The first thing was info about our resort (WL) and I got a rush over that!

I agree with disneydana. We have stayed in the park and outside. The Disney Resorts are to hotels like the MK, MGM, AK, and Epcot are to amusement parks.:) :) :) :) The Resorts are just an integral part of the MAGIC. I don't think you will be disappointed. CSR's pools have to be seen to be believed. We will be looking forward seeing to your trip report.:D :D :D

"I hope I am not building up staying on property too much. It has been something I have wanted to do for over 20 years!! Less than 20 days now!" as quoted by LRT3S (I can't figure out how to quote certain parts of someone's post...don't laugh)

There is NO Way to be disappointed. Nothing compares to the 24/7 Disney theme. It makes you feel giddy and excited like a 6 year old seeing Mickey for the fisrt time. The atmosphere alone is worth every dollar you spend. I would never stay off property again. I did twice and wasn't impressed with Disney at the time. When I stayed on property, it turned me into a true Disney freak. The vacation goes on and on 24/7. You actually eat, sleep and pooh Disney. lol:D When off-site....the magic ends for me as soon as I leave site of the "world". OK..now I'm misty. You are definately not building yourself up for disappointment.

I get excited when I plan a special trip to Disney, not just a day trip. For instance,I was really excited to go yesterday for the day, because I met dznygrl and her friend, plus I saw that Goofy review thing in the MK for the first time.

we also are coming down to the wire and it just seems like it can't get here soon enough.

My wife keeps telling my daughter not to do this, or maybe don't try to do that, for fear she will break something just before our trip.

I haven't had much time to surf the boards lately and with our first trip just around the corner, any last words of wisdom or advise would come in handy.

Thanks,

Mark

Handyhaver

The only advice I have to give you is have fun, don't assume you will do everything (don't even try), enjoy all the "little moments" with characters and the shops. Your reward will be a wonderful trip full of no stress and memories to last a lifetime. Best of all, if you don't go the "hard-core" route, you will have reason for many trips in the future. My daughter and I started with one trip in 1997 so she could experience it and 3 trips later, we already planned our next one and cannot wait to go.
