Frustration about park hours

You would think I would be use to the not knowing when the park will be open for my visit until the month before, but I'm not. I like to plan things like dinners as we all do and they sometimes work around the park schedules. Why do the other Disney Destinatons all have their park hours through January? I find this frustrating. Don't they experience the same problems with not know how many people to expect like WDW? Sorry for being salty all. I think this week of vacation work made me take (use it or lose deal) is driving me nuts. Does the park hours bother anyone else or do some people enjoy the now knowing? Thanks for letting me vent.:devil BTW, does anyone know what hours to expect from 1/30 - 2/3?

It is frustrating not knowing the park hours. I am just going by the November hours for our trip in December and just assuming that the off season hours stay pretty much the same.

Of course you never know when they might suddenly extend the hours for no real reason like last October, remember. That was pretty cool.

It really doesn't bother me because I don't plan too much. My DH and I are going to take it nice and easy this trip and go whichever way the wind blows us.lol Besides he is recovering from surgery and will have to watch his stamina.

Being the Type A person that I am, I plan quite a bit of our trips. I like knowing what time parks are going to close & open so I can better plan meal times & non-park activities (like DTD, Fantasia Gardens, etc.) Besides that, knowledge makes me feel like I'm more in control!:) :)

My visits to WDW are just the DW and I. We usually go in January when hours are short, but we can cover a lot of ground. Three short (different) park visits in a day is not unusual. Consequently, the times don't affect us that much.

I agree with the majority here. How are you suppose to plan your PS when you don't even know the park hours? I hope someone form disney realizes how rediculous this system is and tries to modify it. Sorry for complaining but sometimes it is healthy to vent .

They should definately be posted so that you can make PS's with park hours in mind! Thanks to the internet I can gather data to make educated guesses about the hours and I end up pretty lucky most of the time. Sure would help if they'd post them a little earlier though!

Well, I would much rather have the current system than have them announce them 6 months ahead of time, and then have them change them a month before you are scheduled to arrive, which has happened several times before.

Personally, I pretty much know what hours to expect when we go, MK closes between 6 and 8, EPCOT closes at 9, AK will close at about 5 and Disney-MGM will close at 7 or so. If the hours change by an hour or two, it really doesn't matter. We usually plan our dinners out of the parks, except for EPCOT, and if the parks are open or closed at that time, it really isn't a big deal.

I do agree though, with all the PS now available at 90 days out, why can't park hours be officially posted 90 days out as well?

I could care less one way or the other. I don't usually make a lot of PS's (but I do make some...), and if I make dinner PS's, I usually do the last seating of lunch so I could use the vacation kingdom lunch vouchers! And all the parks are open at that time, so I don't have a problem with that. Or, just wait until the park hours are out and make my PS's then! ;)
