Flight changes-need to vent

Anyone else having problems with American Airlines changing their flights. We have had our reservations since May and as of today we have had our flights changed x3. Flying out of St. Louis is the problem. If we fly from KC we land in StL and have to change planes and still have same problem. Everytime I call Tiffany Towncar and give them updated times-AA changes flight times. Just tired of changes and needed to vent. Thanks for letting me vent.

Had the same problem with Frontier. I think the airlines are just in such a state of upheaval right now & struggling to fill flights & whatever that they're not really sure what they're doing until the last minute. I know what you mean, though. I always confirm with Tiffany the night before, though, at least. In Aug I even called them from the airport here in Denver as we were waiting to board to make sure they had the most up-to-date information.

When I went last October, my flight was two hours delayed. I also used Tiffany's. I called them from Philadelphia airport to let them know of the delay and they told me they already knew. Apparently, they track your flight numbers. The driver assigned to you keeps close watch on your expected arrivals and they adjust their schedule (other pick-ups) accordingly. I know it must be frustrating, but I wouldn't worry too much about Tiffany's. They are on the ball. It will work out. Just try to relax and things always have a way of working out in the end. I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out for you and yours. Good luck and please let me know how you make out with the musical flight schedule.:D

ATA just changed mine! They changed our flight to WDW to a time that will not work. I don't mind so much that they need to make the change, I do object to the fact that I have been sitting here on hold for almost 15 minutes so far and I still have not been able to talk to a human being. I know if I wanted to book a new flight they would be right on it. They could definitly learn a thing or two about customer service!

:devil

This may be a long evening!

At least they have notified you of the changes. I have gone to the airport at times to find out that my flight has been changed and I don't know anything about it!!! That's when it's really bad.

Well almost 20 minutes on hold, but I was able to figure out a flight that will work. Requires flying a puddle jumper out of Chicago and a 1/2 hr layover in Indianapolis, but at least we only arrive an hour later then originally planned!

The funny part was they were not offering me this option, I had to go on to their website while I had them on the phone to find a flight that would work.

Ah the wonders of the web! ! ! !

The only way I found out our flight changed was to check the AA sight. It was in BIG RED letters THIS FLIGHT DOES NOT EXIST. Then I called our travel agent and then she called Disney--neither one had even been told by AA that they changed the flight. We have paid for a direct flight and now there is only one direct flight left and it is at 3:30 in the afternoon arriving at 6:30 on eve.:devil
This is not cool. Lucky we had not planned on going into the park until the next day:D

Good luck GrumpyDad! I feel your pain:) Pixy Dust to you

Same thing happen to us. We had a flight booked to leave Philly at 6:30am and to arrive in Orlando at 8:30. They changed our flight to 7pm at night. We siad no way we'd lose a whole day at the parks and would'nt get to our hotel till at least 10pm. So we changed our dates from Nov 9th to the 14 just so we could get the flight we wanted again. This trip was booked through Walt Disney Travel in Jan for a Nov departure you'd think that far in advance they get it right. We were advised of the change just one short week before our departure (good thing DH work schedule was flexible).

They change, they overbook it really not good business but they get away with it. Just as we get penalized for cancelling they should should give us a discount everytime they change or don't honor, or overbook our reservation. Then maybe they will be forced to get their act togther.

Good Luck cbeccaboo2 and grumpyday I hope it all works out for you. This year we are driving to disney because we're stopping to see family in NC, DH is going to visit friend and go fishing in St. Pete's so we thought the car was the best choice.

The problem comes when they even change the flight NUMBERS!!! That's what's been happening to me lately. That's why I always double check with Tiffany...but then I AM a Type A!!!

This past May, our flight out of Orlando to go home was fine. We got into Logan airport in Boston in plenty of time to catch our connecting flight to Portland, Maine. We get to the Delta desk to check in. They tell us the flight has been CANCELLED!! They said it was due to weather but it was sunny in Boston and sunny in Portland. They said they could get us on another flight at 10 o'clock that night. That was 7 hours to wait in an airport with two kids. Since they claimed it was weather related we didnt even get reimbursed! We ended up renting a car and driving the 4 hours home. We still got home before the other flight would have even left. What a horrible Mother's Day that was.
I hate flying.

I'm so sorry--I really understand! I thought this would have been so easy and so much fun! Lucky we started early planning this trip or I would be just freeking out if it was last minute. (and lets hope it is not last moment) I'll just keep praying and throwing up my stash of pixie dust I have on hand and know that everything will work out

On the theory that most dark clouds have a silver lining, here goes. I work really hard to get really low airfares from Denver to Orlando. Usually, this involves one or more compromises along the way of things like length of flight , length of layovers, one-stop vs non-stops and even dates of travel. When I get notified of changes from the airlines (which happens frequently) or find changes on my own that I didn't get notice of (which happens more than it should), these are opportunities to try to revise our flights (better times, non-stops, faster flights, etc) for no increase in fare. I check out what is available from the airline's web-site and other air travel sites and plan what I would like to ask for when I call the airline to suggest that their change is not in my best interests. If my request is possible and reasonable, they almost always come through and I have a better trip to see the mouse!!!!:D :D :D :) :) :)

Now that's a positive attitude. Airfare changes make me require some form of First-aid. Last trip, we were delayed for almost two hours because they cancelled our flight at the last min. and combined two flights. I was not thrilled to say the least. I believe my daughter was the rational one and she was eight at the time. When you put so much time into planning the perfect vacation, its frustrating to get a wrench thrown into it. I wish I had your reasoning. I have learned a valuable lesson from last time's flight delay.....No PS's for the first day for me.:)
