Japan Pavillion at Epcot Question.

I didn't see this, but was told by someone in our office that they had seen a trailer on one of the news channels regarding the Japan Pavillion at EPCOT closing.
I hope she read this wrong, but I was curious to see if anyone has seen or heard this.

Please say its not true.

The Japan pavilion recently completed a renovation of its retail area. The closing didn't affect any other areas of the pavilion, but perhaps that's what your friend heard.

The closing of an entire Epcot pavilion would be big news in Orlando and there hasn't been a thing in the papers or on TV that I'm aware of.

Japan Pavillion at Epcot Question.

Thanks Park Hopper,

I feel much better now. I also checked the CNN site, MSNBC site and the NYSE listing for the company and didn't see anything reporting that kind of news.
I guess that's how rumors get started.

Rumor? What's a rumor????:D :D :D I did see in my ALL EARS newsletter today that one of the Japanese restaurants in the Japan pavilion will no longer be accepting PS's(sorry, don't remember which one!!),but they will be honoring all PS's already made.Maybe someone who gets the ALL EARS newsletter can refresh my memory.

I'm pretty sure it's Tempura Kiku that is no longer accepting PS's - it's first come first serve now...I really enjoyed the restaurant, but it is quite small and if they don't accept PS's, it might be hard to get in.

kcamozzi you are right about Tenpura Kiku. Could someone tell me about a peaceful garden that is in Japan with bridges, etc.? I heard about it but again have never explored much.

Yes, the photo GrumpyDad posted is from the garden area you're talking about. The garden is at the far left side of the Japan property (as you face the pavilion), next to the U.S. pavilion. There's an interesting display of bonsai there, too.

Thanks you two! The picture is beautiful. I have added that to my growing list of things I have missed due to kids who wouldn't slow down!

I sure loved seeing that photo of the garden in Japan. It was so peaceful and beautiful when we were there.

Every time my wife and I walk past Japan we get one of those frozen treats at the cart to the left of the pavilion. I can't remember what they call them, but they're basically big snow cones. They're awesome, and it wouldn't seem like Epcot to us without them.
