Pick your resort any resort
Here's a fun thing to think about. Let's pretend every hotel in WDW is the same price for a special offer. Which resort would you choose and why? While staying there for 5 days, you get one free meal per day, which retaurant or counter service would you choose and why? You also get to choose one park to have to yourself after hours, which one? Indulge me all, DD is away for the weekend and I'm off from work. You can only clean so much.... So let's have it.. Here are my choices.
I would choose to stay at the Grand Floridian with a water view of the lagoon because I love the location and the beauty of this resort. With my limited funds and catholic school tuition, I don't think I would ever be able to afford this resort and view so that is a major factor in my choice too. My restaurants of choice would be 1) Whispering Cannon in WL for dinner because I love it here 2) Hollywood and Vine (with characters) because its my DD's favorite 3) Chef Mickey's because no trip is complete without it 4)Cindy's for breakfast because it would be nice to get a PS without fighting for it 5) Room service....because its nice to do on your off day if you take one and its SO expensive. My park would be MGM because it we absolutely love this park and end up spending most of our time here.

Dana...what a great idea! I love playing this game! It will be interesting to see what everyone chooses:)
I would stay at the BoardWalk Inn, in one of the Garden Suites..maybe even Steeple Chase. My park of choice would be Epcot after hours. I would eat at Artists Point (love it!), California Grill (never been), Trails End (yummm!), Yachtsman Steakhouse (grilled lobster and Filet!), and Casey's (because a trip to the MK is not a trip without a Casey's hot dog)

Okay Dana... Fun thread... let's see....
Resort: Wilderness Lodge Why: I couldn't decide between WL and AKL so I asked my hubby to be the tie breaker. I love both of these resorts, but the proximity to MK and the cozy home-y (is that right?) feel of it just makes it VERY appealing. Restaurant: Day 1: Artist Point... I have heard the food is wonderful and ambiance is very romantic Day 2: Cindy's Breakfast... the boys would just have to tolerate in my honor ;) Day 3: Chef Mickey's... Never been there but would want to try it Day 4: Albert & Victoria's... once again I have heard it is very romantic Day 5: Marrakesh... Just for something different... LOVE the whole idea of Morocco Park: MK Why:I would have to pick MK... Everyone loves something there. I love AK, but the rest of the family can take it or leave it. So I'll take one for the fam...they are going to have to eat with the princesses on my behalf...;)

Ooh this is going to be fun: Lets see: this is tough
FAVORITE RESORT: 1)Polynesian with a lagoon view. I just love it there and it will always remind me of my wedding. 2) AKL with a savannah view room. I loved being able to walk out onto the balcony and see the animals just roaming around. (too kewl ) RESTAURANT: 1)California Grille, a late dinner so that we can watch the fireworks from the MK 2) The German rest in epcot. (never tried it on our last trip and DH really did want to go) 3)Chef Mickey's (cant go disney without breakfast there) FAV PARK. For me it's the MK (the most magical place in the world) have to see the country bears and winnie the pooh ride. For DH it would EPCOT. He loves World Showcase. Oh boy I cant wait to go back again. Anyone have room in their suitcase for me. :D :)

Dana - what a great idea. I'm going to love reading all the responses.
Let's see.... Resort: The Grand Floridian - in the suite Oprah stayed in. I'm sure it would have a spectacular view and I just love the elegance. And also the monorail to the MK. Restaurants: Victoria & Albert's - because I've never gone there Bistro de Paris - because I love French food. A window table to watch Illuminations Flying Fish Cafe - because I love seafood Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Dining Room - because my kids love Japanese food and I love to meet new people Olivia's Cafe - for sentimental reasons purely. OKW is home to us and the waiters & waitresses are like family Park: Animal Kingdom: Because I love animals. :heart :) :heart

Resort would be hard but it would be between the Contemp, the poly or the AKL. the AKL would be the one my husband would want .. thats his favorite, the girls would want the Poly again. But I would choose the Contemp because we have never said there. We almost did one year then switched over to the Poly.
So going on my pick the room view could be either the Magic Kingdom or an inside room where you can walk out and look down at the Monorail going through :) Of course 1] Chef Mickey's which is our favorite but if like Dana said they brought back Minnie and Goofy to 2]Hollywood and Vine then we would have to go there. 3] O'hana's for a breakfast and 4] Kona Cafe, 5] Sci-fi my park pick would be Epcot !!! so I could ride Mission:Space over and over and over and over and over and over :)

Resort: As much as I love WL and plan to stay there many more times I think I would have to pick the Grand Floridian if all resorts were the same price.
Restaurants: Chef Mickey's Yachtsman's Steakhouse LeCellier CRT for breakfast 'Ohana (it not a trip to WDW if I don't eat here) After hours park--MK, of course!

OK Here we go!!!!!!!!
Wilderness Lodge one of the top floors with a view of the MK so we could see the fireworks from our room. Also I love the fireplace in the lobby and rustic atmosphere!!!!!!!!! Day one: Whispering Canyon Day Two: California Grill Day three Victoria and Alberts with my DW (Of course my sister would be there to watch my boys for one night) Day Four:Ohanas Day five:Cosmic Rays The park is a tough one........I guess MK because that is the heart of WDW. Now if I was by myself I woul dhave to take an entire day for MGM! Love those movies!!!!!!!!!!

This is without kids, of course, just the two adults in the family.
Resort: Boardwalk Inn, garden suite. Simply beautiful. Nothing like having your own private English garden at WDW. Day 1: Spoodles, just because we always go there the first night. Day 2: Victoria and Alberts, Chef's Table Day 3: Artist's Point Day 4: Jiko Day 5: Flying Fish My park would be EPCOT. So many things to do, great rides, great restaurants and a wonderful fireworks show.

now for with the kids
I figured since Mickey did the adults only version I would do the kid friendly trip.
(BTW it is scary how similar your taste becomes after 16 years of marriage) Good Job Mickey when are we going??? Resort Three bedroom Grand Villa at the Boardwalk (remember we have 5 kids Restaurants Day 1 Spoodles (a family tradition) Day 2 50's Prime Time (a big time favorite with the kids) Day 3 Marrakesh (so fun to see an eleven year old boy belly dance) Day 4 Beaches and Cream (to share the kitchen sink) Day 5 O'hana (we have never been and I want to try it) Park This one is tough, We all love Epcot, but with just one choice I would have to go with MK. |
