Help with a very special 40th Birthday gift for DW
I have been trying to come up with something special for my DW's 40th birthday -- we will be celebrating it during our May 2004 Disney Magic Cruise -- and would like to solicit some ideas. Since all the posts here at DC have been so informative I figured someone here could get me started. I have taken the $4 a day I usually spent on coffee and a soda and been squirreling it away, without DW knowing (Hey, she is the money person in our house.), for almost two years now. I figure I will be around $2,000 by the time I need to purchase the gift. Hey, that's a lot of money, maybe I should rethink this -- new golf clubs:hmmm. Seriously, I want this to be the most special birthday my DW will ever experience and could use some suggestions. By the way, she isn't as big a Disney nut as I am -- I guess that is why I am so good at squirreling things away. :hmmm :laugh

Diamnonds work for me!
Very expensive champagne? Or her birthstone, emeralds are very beautiful. What about 40 of something? Roses, charms, cards, cupcakes, memories (take paper and write down one special memory on 40 seperate slips of paper and put them all in a beautiful box) What about contacting all the relatives and friends on the sly, having them mail birthday cards to another address (such as a trusted friend), take them with you on the cruise and give them to her then? A scrapbook of her life from birth to 40 with decorated pages at the end to put in the pictures of the cruise? Another trip? I'll try to think of some more. |

Something fabulous that she's always wanted and would never splurge on herself. For my last birthday (#39) my DH took my wedding band and had it redone with new diamonds and then he bought me a new eternity band the diamond ring with the three stones for past, present and furture. I was moved to tears I love them both and teasure them forever. I'm hitting (#40) in about one month (11/23) and were going to celebrate my 40th early at WDW. I'm sure you'll get lots of great suggestion here!!!
