When is your spring break?

We are planning a trip to WDW during our kids April Vacation. I noticed that the "regular" season begins at WDW on April 18th so that is when we are beginning our trip. I never thought I would be going to WDW during a school vacation due to the crowds. DH thought maybe other schools across the country have their April breaks at different times than we do. So I am curious, when do schools around other DCers have their April vacations?

Oh thats interesting. Here in Maine they get a week off in February, right around Presidents day, then a different week in April. (this year the week of the 19th). Thanks Mickey!

They moved our schools spring break to March 13-21 this year. It is ususally around Easter. And, we have decided to go to WDW this year for spring break:D

Here in our district (central-south New Jersey) we have off from April 8-18th. Hope that helps. We went in 2001 from April 16-27 and the weather was great. However there were alot on senior days (florida high school days) and they were just bussing them in. I'd check that one out too. They are at the parks during the night so the parks aren't crowded - it's the restaurants and DTD they overtake the places. In all fairness we never had a problem but there were no shortage of half dressed highschooler having plenty of fun. I never saw them at resorts maybe they stay off site.

Our school district in Central Texas (along with most of the other local school districts here) are having spring break the week of March 13th - 21st (15th -19th excluding weekends). We are leaving for WDW after school on March 11th (we're sneaking out a day early...shhhhh...don't tell anyone!!!)

I wish our spring break was like Mickey's kids....2 weeks off...that would be sweet!!!

What spring break??? We don't take a spring break, however, we do take Good Friday off. I guess the payoff is we get out of school in May not June.

Bummer....No spring break????

We get a spring break and get out in May......but we start in August...when does your district start??

We went back August 25th and will get out the very last week of May (unless we don't use our 5 snow days). We get 2 full weeks at Christmas and one 3 day weekend every month. In Illinois we have to go to school 175 days, it may be a different number of days in different states.

In what part of the country do you live? Just curious...trying to see what areas are out at the same time us Central Texas folks are. We're going over our spring break...same as yours...and want to predict the lines. We thought most of the country had Spring Break after us, at least that is what we were hoping.

My daughter's break is april 19-23. We are in Massachusetts, but I know that the break dates are not statewide. I work in a pediatric dental office, and all the kids seem to have a different break around here.

Broward County, Florida (South FL) April 5-12

They recently passed the new school calendar for 04/05 we will be starting early 8/10/04 (2 weeks earlier then planned)

Hey Sandan, we live in the same County! lol. I live in Cooper City, and go to Cooper City High. I heard about the summer thing, it stinks that students are loosing 2 weeks of their summer next year!!!:cry: :nooo: . I've also hear rumors of taking the high schools off of block scheduling and puting us on a full year 6 classes a day schedule. Thats so funny that we live close by!
This years Spring Break is extra special to me, beucase thats when I go to the U.K.! I've got the countdown! lol.
