Show me your Haunted Mansion....

Okay.... I know GrumpyDad does his house up right for Halloween. I can't wait to see some pix, but he can't be the only one out there. Since we can't Trick or Treat each others homes, I'd love to see some other DC houses in their Haunted Mansion costumes... :devil :bandit :angel...;pirate:

Well let's bump this one a bit. I am still waiting for the relays I ordered to show up so I can finish the crypt and get it out, but here are a couple of "behind the scene" peeks. This first one is dear Cousin Huet.

And this one is the inners of our crypt, complete with James mounted on his pnuematic cylinder, but without any wiring. I do hope the parts show up tomorrow!

OMG!! Those are fabulous! We do something similar with the styrofoam tombstones but we dont' ahve pneumatic screechers busting out of them! Those are fantastic!

I can post photos after Wednesday - I don't have any pics from previous years! EEk!

BTW, does anyone know why the Hidden Mickey in the Haunted Mansion is missing an ear?? No one seemed to know the answer when we asked.

We have a bit of fun with it all. My youngest DD no longer wants to trick-or-treat, she much prefers to get her girlfriends to come over and "haunt" our little graveyard. For a couple of years it got kinda old hat for the kids around us, but in the last three years we have had an influx of young families so we are cranking it up again.

We already have some cool plans on the drawing board for next year; number one is a suspended, animatronic ghost that should be a real show stopper.

I coach girls softball and we are talking about using our indoor practice facility to host a haunted house as a fund raiser next year, that should be a blast.

Which Hidden Mickey in the HM?

This is a little off topic but a Halloween story I thought I would share.

Last year Nathan had a carved pumpkin he just loved, he named him Jack and said hello and goodbye to "him" every day. Well after a few warm days following Halloween my DH noticed Jack had some facial malformations and threw him in the trash. "Jack" left Nate a note telling him bye and explaining that he had to go home home to his mom and dad. Nate sat on the porch and cried his eyes out that day. He was so sad but just knew that Jack would be back.

For the last few days Nathan has been talking a lot about Jack and about how he would come back again this year. My DH found a similar sized pumpkin and carved Jack again late last night and left a note and Jack on the porch. Nate found both this morning and was sooooo happy to see him again. He ran out and said said "I knew he would come back" with a cracking voice and tears in his eyes. He was so happy.

Geez, that is just too cute. I sometimes really miss having a little one around again. Guess I'll just have to wait for grandkids!

What a great idea. I love when families "get into" Halloween. We have a family around the corner from us that has an awesome presentation. My DD (9yrs old) is still afraid to go up to the door...lol

WOW. GrumpyDad, that is so great! Your stuff looks better than some of the stuff in the real HM...(maybe it's just time for some of those old ghosts to get refurbished...;)) I wish I lived near you so I could check out the full effect on Halloween!

Here are a few pictures of our Disney Halloween Decorations. I got the Ghosts w/Mickey, Mickey Bats, and paper mickey pumkins and paper lantrans from the DIsneystore.com a couple years ago on clearance for like $4.99. We've used them the past two years, and love it! I even brought some of them ghoast and bats into work! Every thinks they are sooo cute!
