Since my DW will not travel early in the morning, ( no not a fear or anything, she just hates to be rushed out of the house ), we normally don't get to WDW till late afternoon / early evening. So it is off to a nice dinner and a bit of resort hopping. Then if it is warm enough an evening swim and then the obligitory trip to Beaches and Cream over at the Y&BC for an eveing ice cream. Then an "early" bed time so we can hit the parks when they open.

After checking in at my resort...I go directly to MGM to ride RnR. This is my favorite ride to start off my trip.:D :) :) :)

My first full day is spent at Magic Kingdom! You can't beat the sight of the castle on your first full day.:)

Resort Check in (after 3pm) and reconfirmation of all reservations and Priority Seating confirm numbers. Then the Water Launch to the Monorail for the grand tour. Then back to Chef Mickey's or Trail's end or Hoop Dee Doo for supper. Then the petting zoo, maybe a wagon ride, then the Sing along campfire show, s'mores and a nice movie under the stars. The water parade is schedualed in there as well as the fireworks. Never even get to the parks!

Check-in and get settled. Then walk over to the MK and do some shopping along Main Street. Head back to hotel for Chef Mickey's for dinner.

This year we are mixing it up though and heading over to the Boardwalk for the first time. Thanks DC cause I never realized how many cool things were over there.

After check-in at the hotel we always take the bus to MK then go over to TTC and ride the monorail to Epcot, somehow being on the monrail just lets us know we REALLY are at WDW.:D

Usually, we never get to WDW before 4:00. By the time we've checked in and settled in, we just go for dinner (usually at Olivia's at OKW) and then collapse. I don't even care that we don't do anything else. Just knowing I'm finally back is enough.

I choke up everytime I see the "Welcome Home" sign at OKW.

We try to check in as early as possible then hit the MK. I don't feel like I am at WDW unless we see the castle. We may have a meal or stop at another resort but we aren't at WDW until we go to the MK.

We don't do any parks on the first day. This year we plan to do the same thing we did last trip (6 years ago). We get in (Saturday noon check-in at the condo off-site), unpack, go to Walmart for groceries, then spend several hours at DTD shopping and hanging out. Then back to the condo for a good night's sleep.

We will hit our first park Sunday. MK, as always. It doesn't feel like a Disney trip until we see the castle for the first time! I know the experts say to avoid MK on an EE day (unless you have EE), but we have to see MK first.

Its become a tradition to start our first day off with Breakfast at Chef Mickey's Since we drive we always arrive early in the morning so we get the whole first day :) arriving around 7 am at the resort ..checking in and head to Chef Mickey's for breakfast ..then it all depends on the day of the week which park we might go.

If we can get in to our room we go there & settle in a little. But then the first thing is always to head over to MK! That first look down Main Street to the castle tells us all's right with the world!!!

We usually arrive in the early afternoon, so we just relax the first day, explore the resort, check out the pool. We always have a PS for a great restaurant the first night to start the vacation. Then if we have timed it right, head for the monorail to watch the fireworks.
