Twinge of Guilt

Okay I'm not proud to admit but last night as I tossed and turned in bed I got a twinge of guilt about spending all that money to go to disney. I thought about all the things we need, or I think we need (like new bedroom furniture). Shame on me. So this morning I hot tailed it downstairs to the computer room and got on to DC. A nice dose of reality is all I needed. Thank you everyone for those trip reports they really snapped me back to my senses!!!

That's just normal pre-Disney jitters.I think we have all probably have experienced.Don't worry even though you have cold feet now, it all changes once you arrive in Disney and you never look back with regret !:)

I had the same feelings (For all of a nanosecond) when I saw my credit bill after booking DL for Feb. Then I took into account that the new van lease was also on it. So I paid it off and whistled off to work!:) :) :) :) :) :)

Perhaps you should remind yourself the money spent was an investment in your family's mental health.

The one thing I never feel guilty about is the money spent for WDW and at WDW. Its a part of who we are. Its a part of our family history and our every day lives because everyday one of us bring up WDW, something that happen there, or how we want to go right now.
Before we went this past August we were in a little financial bind, due to DH becoming ill and sudden loss of income. We were living off savings which was quickly shrinking. We the FTP came out and we decided we were going, I had several "friends" say it was foolish to spend money on a vacation when our future was so up in the air. But that trip gave us something happy to look forward to after months of worry, fear and finding out DH has MS. Both of us had been through months of stress and depression. We needed that trip as much as DH needs his weekly injections to slow the progression of MS. It was as PhantomBantam said

If I had spent 3 X what I did it would have been worth it to see the smile on my DH's face after he rode M:Space. only another wife can understand the kind of joy that was for me .. I was in tears because it was so great for him. Everyday after he would point to his self and say "Engineer" and still smiles and says it when we see the new Mission:Space commercial.
In the end it all worked out ..we are not rich but not poor and homeless either *grin* but even if it had not worked out, I know that what tomorrow brings is unknown and I dont want to say "I wish I had" .. I want to say "I did"

I never feel guilty about the money I spend at WDW. I figure that t's my time for me and it's no one's business what I spend.

Money spent on a trip to WDW is never money wasted. Spending quality time with your family at the happiest place on earth is an investment in memories that will last a lifetime. Don't ever feel guilty...I never do. There are many things I could be using my WDW money for, but they can wait. Anytime you feel guilty, think of the happy faces of your family when you enter the parks and you'll know your not wasting money.:D

The joy we disney addicts get when we visit the world is worth every penny. Never feel quilty about creating joy. Can you imagine the world if everyone felt the joy of Disney, from the first planning stage to the last memory.:D

I think you may have discovered how to create world peace. It's impossible to be angry when you are that excited and it's even more impossible to sweat the small stuff.:)

I wonder if they would let us address the UN?

Never feel guilty about something that brings your family closer together. And as for using the money on other "really important things" - don't those things always seem to work out in the end?

Dixie and I joke about being a United Nations and often talk about how if the rest of the people in the world were as crazy about WDW and Disney as we are then the whole world would be a much better place .. it goes without saying ..if the rest of the world were as wonderful, compassionate and tolerant as all of you on DC .. there would be World Peace :)

I'm all for it. Ever notice how most people go out of their way to be on thier best behavior while Mickey is watching? (I know some people are hopeless, but that is why there is good and evil) Everytime a country acts up, instead of sending tanks, we can send Mickey. I know, I know...if only... Het..I candream can't I? lol:laugh :laugh

Tink: Something happened to my pixie....It's a little uh...different. I like it. I can hear my own drummer playing his solo now. I like having my own tune. Thanks!:)

It's all good...as soon as you see the castle in person, and as soon as you start to become enveloped in Disney magic, you'll realize it was worth every penny. ;) Here's hoping your trip is absolutely fantastic!! :D

I like what Phantom said--it's an investment in your family's mental health! AMEN! :laugh
