Haha, ok, maybe it's not as serious as the title hinted but we need help making a decision. We're completely depressed having come home from probably the BEST WDW vacation I've ever had so we think planning something to look forward to will help. It probably won't be as long this time (maybe 5 nights, instead of our normal 7) but we're trying to decide....


June: Disneyland (staying at the DL hotel) or WDW (staying at a moderate)


These are out thoughts on each:
Disneyland: We'd like to see it before the "50th" ends, we've only been to DL & California Adventure once as a couple (our honeymoon 2 years ago), We've never stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, we think being there during the weekdays will be LESS crowded than going to WDW during this week, we JUST got back from WDW.


WDW: We are DYING to go on Expedition Everest, haven't stayed at Coronado Springs in a long time, probably cheaper in the long run than going to California, husband's family can come see us for a day b/c they live in Tampa. If we go to WDW instead of DL we'll be there for 6 days, if we go to California we'll only be in DL for 3 days b/c we'll be sightseeing other places too.

I am going to have to vote DL....mainly because I know *I* want to visit both sides of the country before the 50th is over, and plus 5 nights is the PERFECT amount of time for a DL/Southern California trip. (It's not quite enough for a WDW trip in my opinion.)

And I've ALWAYS wanted to stay at the DLH, but haven't got to yet.

So....if it was ME....I'd pick DL/DCA.

Oh, and P.S. I think you're right, that being in DL during the weekdays will save some of the crowds that you would face in WDW at that time. It's still crowded in the summer, but the weekdays are an improvement.

If you're talking early June, than I definitely vote DL! School usually doesn't get out until a week or two into June and you should have pretty light crowds on the weekdays.

hi Andrea, ugh, unfortunatley it would be the thrid week in June. That's when our schools get out and I am a teacher so I am stuck here too, hehe. Will weekdays STILL be do-able or will it be CRAZY busy? We would probably be there a Tues.-Friday at the DL hotel.

I bet it will STILL be slower than WDW at that time, right?

We went to Disneyland/DCA the third week in June and thought it was do able..it was crowded though. We never did get on Tower of Terror b/c the fast passes were either not on or one of the elevators was broken, causing a major back up. We asked those coming out and the wait ranged from 1:50 min to 2:10min wait.
We used Fast pass every chance we got and took a midday break for 2 or so hours back at the hotel. It was hot but no where near what it is like in FL in June.

I will say I think DL/DCA is more like a 4 or 5 day trip. We only took a break for dinner and 2 hours in the heat of the day(noon-2pm) and still had to commando the last day to fit it all in. At either park, you are going to have large crowds in June though.

Personally I'd go to WDW. I have been to both numerous times and while we all like DL, after this last trip we have decided we really prefer WDW. There is just SO much to do and see and lots of great places to eat at WDW. You have so many more hotel choices on property at WDW too. (that don't cost $200-335 a night) We stayed at the HOJO in DL and it just wasn't the same..we all really missed the Disney Magic we get by staying on site at WDW.

I'd got to DL for the sole reason that you want to go during the 50th and time is limited on that. You can always do WDW for the vacation after next.

Yeah, and since we just got back from a week in WDW i would feel guilty going again I think, not that that ever stopped me before, hehe. BUT, there was so much in DL we didn't get to explore the last times I was there and I think the 50th would be a perfect time. Hmmm, decisions decisions!!!!

I voted DL simply because of what you have already said--It's the 50th, you have only been once for your HONEYMOON , and you cannot stay as long at WDW as you normally do (and it already sounds as if you are dissapointed by that).

The 50th is only a one time thing, come to CA!!! You must see how pretty the castle is all dressed up.

Then the following November or December, when you have your holiday break from work, go to WDW--it will be value season, and you can visit with DH's family
