Get A Life?

DC is my home online when it comes to Disney info ..but there is this small board about Disney Texas, mostly dedicated to rumors of a Texas Disney Theme Park .. because I dream of such a thing .. every now and then I go and have a peek to see what the latest rumor is.

today .. I saw this posted.

Quote:
I feel like I am at a Star Trek convention. Get a life people. It is just a theme park. It dosen't make your life any better
wellllllll I am pretty sure I am not the only one that thinks this statement is totally false .. it does make your life better :)

my life is not only better because of Disney and WDW .. its better because of the people here at DC who are just as crazy about Disney/WDW as me and my family are

To me and my DD Disney is a very special place. It is quality time and magic that we cherish and don't always have the time for in everyday life. As some of you know, I am a single parent who works a lot and quality time is hard to come by with sports, school and basic cleaning. When we go to WDW, we leave everything behind and it is only just US. It will be something she has to remember and cherish always. WDW is a magical place that allows me the pleasure of seeing my favorite characters tell my favorite stories and do it all with the person I love the most in this world. I feel sorry for the person who made that statement. They are obviously ignorant and clueless when it comes to quality family time. Not everyone *gets* the whole Disney thing, but most people smile and say "to each their own" as a normal person would. Everyone has different tastes, likes and dislikes and only ignorant people begrudge those who don't have their same taste for things in life. Maybe the person who made that statement needs to grow up and learn to keep their single-minded opinions to themselves.

I agree Tink. WDW has brought so much joy and wonderful memories to my family. WDW cannot be duplicated and I think we'd all agree there is not another park out there like WDW.

Then there'd DC I've met so many selfless, kind and generous people here. DC is a small example of the best disney brings out in all of us and how we have banded together here a small family. If this is what disney or being a disneyholic means then "beam me up Scotty "

lol that is the perfect reply !!! I might just steal that and go back to that board and post it !!
I know the chances of a Disney Park in texas are slim to none ..but you cant blame us texans for dreaming .. I have often said it wouldnt keep me away from WDW but it would be so great to have a Mouse House near by (one rumor puts a Disney Park with in 15 miles of where I live) to go visit on weekends :)and disneymaverick ,,
I am all kid ..and well I may not be a trekkie ..but I am a huge fan of the orignal star trek :) I even had a album by Mr. Spock *grin*

I've never understood the "Star Trek" thing, but all the more power to the people that are into this or anything else which brings some enjoyment into your life. I certainly don't expect everyone I meet to be a Disneyphile - after all we are a unique group of people - but I do expect common decency. What a boring world if we all had to agree on everything. As for WDW being "just an amusement park". Well, that might be that person's opinion, and he is certainly entitled to it, but for me it is a very special place. It must be magical - my teenagers actually get along there. (BTW, I wish I had thought of the "beam me up Scotty line!)

I would have to say that we all DO have a life!!!

A life filled with memories shared with our children and family.
A life filled with friends who share the same values as we do.
A life filled with future plans of fun and dreams.

So, yes, I've got a life!!! And I don't feel ashamed to admit it!!!
