IT SNOWED in New Mexico!!!

I was so excited when I woke up this morning, I looked out the window and it had snowed and was still snowing:D :laugh :D . It rarely snows in New Mexico and so when it does it is really quite an event especially if your like me and just love the snow. It's so beautiful! . So needless to say DD, DH, and I were outside playing in the snow at 6:45 this morning before we all had to leave for work and/or great-grandma's house:cry:  . Ohhhhh what I would give to get out of this office and into a snowball fight.:p

Yeah snow!!! Ours is all gone now. 12 inches on Friday and Saturday last week and yesterday it rained all day and night and now it's gone. Enjoy the snow, and it's Friday sneak out early for all well deserved snow ball fight.

That is soo cool ( no pun intended, lol) Tina!

My sister lived in Santa Fe for 2 years, and I LOVED visiting, you have a beautiful state. I bet it looks even better with snow!

Wow! I didn't think it snowed there. How special for you and especially your DD. A little touch of Chrismas early. Like Paula said, we had tons of rain and now the snow is gone in NJ. I'm kinda glad about it. You guys keep that snow to yourselves over there..:laugh :laugh no sharing please.:laugh :laugh

Snow is so awesome. Especially the first snow of the season. We are getting hit in AR right now and it is so pretty. I can't wait till morning when there will be enough to play in and have fun.

Enjoy your snow while it lasts, I'm sure it will be gone soon. I also didn't know it ever snowed in NM. We get snow all the time in Illinois and it gets old after the first one. We are getting 3-5 inches as I type and I am ready for it to go away! We had plans for the day and they didn't include snow!

Nj is suppose to get hit again tomorrow with a winter mix. I can't tell you my thoughts of what the mix is...:laugh :laugh according to the news, it's going to be rain, sleet, snow and ice...should make driving an adventure tomorrow. I know what you mean Stephanie. Snow has a was of ruining the best plans.

I'm so glad you're enjoying your snow! Playing outside at 6:45? If anyone did that around here, they would promptly be carted off :laugh - that is if they didn't freeze permanently to the ground. Ah the snow is always whiter on the other side of the fence!

Alextina:
Congrats on the snow. I don't know where in NM you are, but I have seen the blooming cacti covered with snow in NM and it was one of those neat scenes that sticks in a person's mind. That one missed us in CO, but the next one on Monday won't.
Ron

Well, we got about 4 inches of the white stuff today. Not too bad, I guess. We still did what we needed to do and are home safely now. We needed to go see my parents today and they live about 50 miles from us. We drove through a Christmas display of lights the park district puts on every year and the snow did make it even more beautiful. I am now ready for spring, one snow is enough for me.

Okay, all of this talk about snow is not helping!! They just showed the Colorado map on TV and the whole western half of the state is RED for a Winter Storm Warning tonight! That means tomorrow, my snow blower is probably going to get some work.
Ron:)

I guess I should have said it never snows in Albuquerque where I am. It does however snow in New Mexico enough to have some pretty good skiing as close as 30 miles away at Sandia Peak (this is iffy some years) but we're about 60 miles from Santa Fe where there is almost always good skiing and Taos is approx. 2 hrs away and they always have good skiing. So the moral of the story is it does snow in NM just not very often in the City of Albuquerque.

roncss,

We were supposed to get hit by the same storm today but it looks like all we are going to get is a whole lot of really gusty wind. It started about 2:30 this morning and has been blowing strong ever since.:dazed
