Am I Alone Here???

Am I the only person on the face of this planet who has not finished their Christmas shopping????

*violin begins its melancholy Christmas melody*

And why is it that it appears every child who wears a size 6-8 in the city of Columbia is getting PJs for Christmas??? There sure aren't any left in the stores? :nooo: WAH!!!! And why is it that the only line of Hallmark ornaments that are sold out are the DISNEY ones that I wanted???

Y'all PLEASE tell me that I am not alone here.... I feel like a bad Mommy right now.... Lesson learned... begin Christmas shopping in January!!!! ;)

Anne,

You are not alone!! I feel your pain. I spent all last night looking for Spongebob SquarePants Louunge Pants for DBF's Daughter. Today, I have to go and brave the crowds to HOPEFULLY finish.

So please don't think you are alone, sometimes the best gifts are the ones bought at the last minute!! You could never be a bad Mommy, no matter what!!

Jennifer :)

Every year I think I'm so smug because I finish early and every year I've forgotten something and am running out on Christmas Eve. NO ONE is busier than mothers at Christmas. I think we all deserve a pat on the back for trying to make our families Christmases memorable.

Jenny -

I seen them at Target. I don't know if you have one near you, but I seen them there.

I am not bragging, but I bought my very last gift today and it was an in and out thing...wine! I have to work straight up until Christmas and that is my penalty for being smug. No worries guys...it will all get done. Anne, you are certainly not a bad mother. I always put myself through the "Did I get enough?" guilt trip. Every Christmas morning I sit and watch my DD devour her "pile" and shake my head and ask "WHY did I get SO much?" You have 4 days left. That's plenty of time. My DBF hasn't even started....ugh! He makes me crazy. He will come by Christmas Eve with a huge pile for me to wrap.....got to love him or I'd have to strangle him.

I have a few PJ's too, but I didn't want to make anyone feel bad....:laugh :laugh :laugh I ordered several pairs from Disney online. You think looking for a girls 6-8 is tough...try finding an XS ladies in Disney clothes...UGH!!! They don't even make my DD real sixe which is a 14-16 girls. I hope the PJ I bought her (red flannel Pooh) in a ladies small are OK. I think she may be swimming in them.

And always remember, the best gift we can give our kids and loved ones is our time, that special time together. To take the time to do the special things with them and give them our undivided attention. That is what makes the Christmas Season so special, that is what creates memories. Not the gifts, they'll never remember the gifts, it's the time you sit down and sing the songs, play the games, bake the cookies. That's what they'll remember.

So, guess I better get off the internet and go make some memories ;)

Have a Great Day Everyone! :)

Christmas shopping is never really truly done. I was told by my DW two weeks ago that we were done. But alas I spent today and will spend tomorrow running the mall.

(just one more gift really just one more ;) )

I wonder if your DW and my mother are related. She has Told the same thing to my father and still manages to drag him out for just one more gift...:laugh

Anne,

I think that we have the flip with the PJs up here. There were TONS of size 6 and 6x jammies left, but none in 3 or 4. Doesn't that just figure???

:) This is a great post. NO WE ARE NOT DONE EITHER!!!!!

However, I am very proud of myself....I started going to the Hallmark stores in my area to find the Disney ornaments in July and August! :laugh

I got them as they came in and picked up a nice one of Mickey & Pluto when it hit the shelves in October.

We have an entire tree of Disney ornamanets only, that my kids decorated for me.
