Wow, Spike, what a great email--it states what most of us believe! I too will miss the Disney Club. I know the DVC card does not get us the same discounts it used to either. I guess discounts are a thing of the past.:madmad It really seems like the people who frequent disney the most are the ones getting shortchanged. :madmad :madmad

Good job Spike! It sounds just like I would have written it. I too am now spending more dollars at other venues. It's a shame that Disney doesn't recognize that they are pushing away their loyal guests.

AMEN Spike!! Couldn't have worded the letter any better.
I too remember when it was the MKC; got it for free due to job affiliation. I then went on to the Disney Club where I had to pay for it myself; had different job anyway. I let my membership run out in 2002 when they notified me that they would no longer offer the DC after 12-31-03. I couldn't justify paying another year for a membership that I wouldn't be using as we weren't able to go this year. I didn't bother with the Visa either. I have one credit card and if you could have earned points for balance transfer then I probably would have applied but the Disney Visa hardly seems worth it to me either. I also agree with whoever stated that there are a lot of changes going on with the WDW company. Change can be a good thing or it can be a bad thing. I guess we'll find out in the next few years. I still believe that if they don't build another park to compete with Universal, they're going to be hurting in the future.

I too will miss the Disney club- It makes me so sad. It enabled us to go 3 times in the last 2 years. When I see the name of this thread I automatically do this::cry:!!!
Not to mention the discount at the Disney Store-I was in there last week for the last hurrah with the card and the CM (not the one who was ringing me out) came over and said "I bet you'll miss that-huh?" What a great guy he was, we had such a nice conversation. I hope that they will bring something like it back. I too am going to send an email. Lauren |
