What a GREAT christmas day!

Hey Everyone! I'd like to start off by wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and happy Kwanzaa (which starts tomorrow I think). I hope everyone's holidays go perfectly well and that aunt Patty doesn't drink to much Eggnog....sorry I was having a flashback, lol!:D :laugh Anyways, I just wanted to share with everyone what happened to me this christmas morning. Dont worry it involves Disney! lol. But before I explain what happened I need to give you the history of it all. Ever since my best friend turned 18 this year, we have been wanting to plan a road trip to Orlando. We've made 3 attempts to try to pull together a trip to Disney World and a couple more to Universal Studios. Well today, it all came together! This morning one of my gifts was the 2004 WDW guide (I also got Micheal Eisners autobiography but thtas besides the point, lol) well I was reading through it and what not when the topic of the road trip came up. My mom said as part of my christmas present she was booking me and my Best friend a room at one of Disney's Value Resorts and paying for my admission to whatever theme park we choose. Well I called my best friend and his parents gave the thumbs up as well (I think a conspiracy was going on) so my mom called Disney Reservations and with a florida resident code booked us 2 nights at the All Star Movies for $55 a night for January 2nd-4th!(Just to let you know the Pop Century and All Star Music was booked up that weekend.) Im going to WDW in like 2 weeks! I can't believe this is happening! Not to grease my own car (and please stop me if I sound like I am) but I believe I'm the luckest kid in the entire world! I just wanted to share with you all this Christmas Miracle becuase I know you all will be excited for me! lol. Me and my friend have already decided we are going to go to EPCOT becuase we both haven't been in over a year and we want to check out Mission Space! And I will be able to post pics this time becuase I got a Digital Camera! K, I need to calm down now lol. And to top it off the very next month I'll be back in WDW for the Meet and Greet (which by the way Im going to PM you DisneyAnne with an update on that for my family)..... Im sorry if this post seems like I'm acting like an attention-getter, Im just so excited Im just typing my fingers off. Ok, So how was everyone elses christmas?? Did you get your dream gifts?? Share your stories too!!
Joe:)

Joe -

You are not an "attention getter" and this is wonderful news. I am so glad you posted about it. Which All star's are you staying at? I love those resorts as will you and your friend. You re going to have such a great time. I cannot wait to see your pictures, read your trip report and hear your input on MI. You had yourself a very Merry Little Christmas. I am thrilled for you.

Joe-

That is so great!! I'm so excited for you, too. My one regret from my "single life" is that my bestfriend and I never did Disney. How great your doing it now. And you're right I for one do not think your trying to get attention, you knew we'd all be as excited for you as if it happened to ourselves. Well, almost as excited;) .

I got a new Dell Computer for Christmas!!! I've needed one so badly for about a year now, that 60 second rule about posting never applied to me, cause thats how long it took to reply anyways:hmmm !!! My DH also signed me up for DSL, I am in shock of how fast this thing is!!!

How about everyone else, was Santa good to you?

Happy Christmas, indeed. Great story, Jwdj4life! Nice to hear that someone your age is interested in such a journey, and that your folks (& your buddy's folks) endorse it so enthusiastically. That's so special, and also indicative of your parent's (and their parents) faith in your frienships and responsibility.
I too regret never having had a chance to visit WDW with my best friend, but hopefully I'll get to go there when he takes his daughter in a year or so.
Road Trips are often great experiences. From your profile, it seems you're going to be driving up from Fort Lauderdale? I once did this trip with my nephews - my other best friends- and it took about 4 or 5 hours or so to get to Orlando from Ft. Laud. - but was well worth it.
Come to think of it, our trip late last year, was a sort of Disney Road trip, this time on the West Coast, since we drove from my nephew's place in San Jose to Disneyland in Anaheim.
Bring along some tunes, don't forget to stop to eat and Please Drive Safe and sober!
We all can't wait to see the photos you come back with. So what kind of camera did you end up getting for Christmas?

I too am so happy for you Jwdj4life. We will be at one of the All Stars (don't remember which) the 1st thru 5th. We tried Pop Century a month or so ago and it was full at the great rate- so we'll visit. Have a great time and pray for good weather.

Sounds like someone has been a good boy over the past year ;)

Joe... it sounds wonderful! I would have loved to have had an opportunity to share something like that with any one of a number of friends. Actually... would still love to... :D I guess that's the beauty of the Meet & Greet for me is the fact that I will be sharing the Disney magic with some of my favorite people who love WDW as much as I do.

I hope you have an absolute blast... I am a firm believer in making memories to last a lifetime. Make sure to take some pix to share with those of us outside the mousekegates! :)

I hope you were good to your parents this Christmas! Let me know what your plans are for the Meet when you get a chance.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! Dana- We'll be staying at the All Star Movies, which is perfect becuase Its the only All Stars I haven't stayed at! Im so glad you got a new computer Lauren! Ours is only a year old and is already out dated, lol. DSL has to be the best invention ever- Im still trying to convince my parents that atleast, Oh well, maybe next year! lol. Its about a 4 hour drive from my front door to the Disney boundries where I am Geeman, And we are going to burn special road trip cd's to listen to on our way up! And Ill be taking tons of pics with my new Digital Camera! Its a Kodak easyshare dx4350. I love it! It makes videos and takes great pics! With the 32 MB internal Memory it can take 24 pics, but I recieved a 128 MB card as an extra, and with the picture quality set on 3.2 MP I can take about 130 pictures! When it is on 5 MP i can only take about 80 pics. Im so glad you guys are very positive and encouraging! Its an additional boost to my excitment! Well enough blabbering its 1am! lol.
Joe:)
P.S. My mom was flipping through the TV and came tot he travel channel where we caught the tail end of the WDW holidays special hosted by Samantha Brown, I got to see Wishes, it looks so neat. And the Disney Cruiseline special just started! This day is just getting better!

Thanks guys! Im still reeling from yesterdays excitement:dazed . I still cant believe it happened! lol. Me and my friend were talking last night and we decided like the day before we leave we are going to stop off at Publix (Our local grocery store) and load up on snacks, chips and soda, and just to get a well balanced meal I'll through in some chocolates, lol. I think that this will lighten the cost of buying food and drinks in the park or back at the hotel for us. What do you all think? Any money saving suggestions? Also has anyone stayed at the All Star Movies? What was your opinion? My favorite part about planning a disney vacation is researching the hotel we are staying at!
