Thanks, Mouseketrips!

I just had to take a minute to brag on Mickey and Mouseketrips!

I am so excited! I have been planning my family's vacation with Mouseketrips for several months. As the final days are approaching, I decide that I want to stay in a monorail hotel. Keith helped me upgrade from the Wilderness Lodge to the Polynesian Resort. It is a surprise for my husband...who had always wanted to stay there. And all for a minimum cost. I figure that we are saving over $400 from Disney rates for the same package.

Thanks, Mickey!:)

We just stayed at the Poly a few weeks ago and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I already booked a whole week there next December...YOU AND HUBBY WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! It is our favorite hotel! We even like it better than the Grand Floridian, go figure?!? :nervous

Trish, that is great!! If I were staying that close to O'hana, I'd have to eat there every night! I just love that place!

The Polynesian is so beautiful and the beach is so relaxing. I know your son will have so much fun!!

YAY MICKEY!!!!!:)

Trish that is fantastic We loved the POLY. Being on the monorail line and so close to the MK and Epcot. And being able to go down to the beach and watch the fireworks over the MK and the water parade is just so Beautiful. Im so excited for you.

iluvwdw I have to agree with you DH and I love the POLY so much more than the GF. The GF is very nice on the inside it just seems a little "stuffy" to us. We felt so uncomfortable walking around the resort in shorts.
I know that this seems strange and it was strange to us. I would have never have thought that we could feel uncomfortable anywhere in Disney.
I just dont get it.. :hmmm

WED, so funny!!!! DH and I felt the SAME way!!! It is a beautiful resort, don't get me wrong...but when we walked in there, we didn't get that feeling that you get when you walk into the lobby of the Poly. I thought we were crazy! DH is also a concierge in NYC (for an apartment building with all multi million dollar apartments!) and he said "UGH, I HATE IT...I FEEL LIKE I AM AT WORK!" In other words, too stuffy for us! So when we go next December, the Poly it is. I think it is going to be the Poly MOST of the time, we loved it that much...and we never even got to eat at Ohana!!!

Trish, that is EXACTLY what we had!!! We had lagoon view, and our view was of Cinderella's Castle...just breathtaking. Actually, we had a Bell Hop help take our bags to our room and we had the room two doors down which had a HUGE palm tree in front of it! :dazed Couldn't see around it at all. He quickly put in a call to his buddies on duty at the front desk and instantly got our room moved 2 doors down and I could not have asked for a better view!!!! It was truly amazing. I loved the Tahiti building! At first, I thought it was going to be such a HIKE to the Great Ceremonial House, but it was such a nice 2 minute walk! And the TTC walkway is LITERALLY right outside of Tahiti's door! I would not have it any other way. Tahiti is the way to go!!!! I am sooo jealous right now...and looking so forward to my December 2004 trip!!! HAVE FUN TRISH!!!! Your little guy will love it...:)

We stayed at the poly in .. I think it was 98 .. the girls loved Story time every evening in the lobby .. I remember they when we checked in that the girls got the "tour" from the CM's and we were just tagging along :)
we went to eat there this past aug. at Kona Cafe and there was this 'life" size chocolate stitch .. the girls spent a long time talking to the guy that created it and he said he was going to be adding Lilo :)

As to Mouseketrips ..they really are great :) I have nothing but confidence in them and plan to always use them !!

I've got to jump in here and play devil's advocate on this one. While I too enjoy the Polynesian, I can't let the GF just be set aside as too snooty. I've stayed there (GF) several times, and it's my second favorite resort next to the Wilderness Lodge Villas.

I'll be the first to admit that there is a feeling of elegance at the GF that some may take as stuffy, but I find it perfectly fitting with the theming of the resort. Remember that this is supposed to be WDW's premier resort. (Which, in fact, it is. The resort consistently ranks near the top of industry hotel rankings.) There is supposed to be an air of luxury about the resort - that's how it was designed. I find it kind of fun to get into the spirit of the hotel and imagine that I'm someone of importance (which I certainly am not) being treated accordingly by a superb hotel staff.

Just my $.02 worth.

Scott

P.S. A a staff member of Mouseketrips, and on behalf of Keith/Mickey, thanks, Trish, for the kind words about Mouseketrips. We're really working hard to make Mouseketrips the very best Disney travel agency out there.

I agree with you about GF, Scott! I thought that way too at first. But when you look around...NO ONE is dressed up except if they are there for a wedding party. Kids run around in bathing suits and no shoes at times, and so do the adults. I go there often for the Tea and Garden room, and we just love how beautiful it is there. My sister and her fiance stayed there a month ago and were engaged at Disney. (My ds and I went to visit and see the room!!)We definately don't "look like money";) and they were all kind to us regardless!! I could never afford to stay there, but it is one of my favorite places to visit and feel "important"! Haha

On the other hand, I never could *stand* the Poly! I've never even been inside.:nooo: :bandit Well this last trip I went to visit there, because of how everyone here feels about it, and I really do like it!! (and I haven't even been to O'hanas yet! LOL) The beach is wonderful and I just love the feel of it!! My 1st choice would be GF, but Poly is a *very* close 2nd place!! :)

I'm so glad you are staying there...and can't wait to hear all about it, and see pictures of the room...hint hint;) Pixie Dust sent your way to make sure you get your request and the *perfect* room!!

Glad to hear the good reports about the Grand! It has always been my dream to stay there. It will definately be the hotel of choice for my 10 year wedding anniversary (in 5 years!) I saw the pictures of the room on Deb's website and absolutely fell in love! Reminds me of the rooms at the BoardWalk....one of my favorite resorts!

Trish, have to agree with you on this one...We used Mouseketrips last year and found them to be nothing but helpful, professional and friendly. Our holiday went like a dream, we got the AP discounts without having to worry, and we'd certainly use them and recommend them again.

Thanks to all there!

CM&CC
PS - I have to brag at this point and mention that Mouseketrips occasionally use a quote of mine on their website...
