Not so Happy New Year in my family...

First off, I want to wish everyone a Happy and safe night. REMEMBER, don't drink and drive. I have an aunt who is a quadrapelegic because of her husband driving after a wedding and of course, drinking. So PLEASE, I know what can happen first hand...DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!! Let someone else have the keys if you plan to drink...or don't drink at all. You can have just as much fun if you don't drink!

Second, I haven't been on much these past few days, because my uncle (on my mom's side) died on Monday night. He was 67 years old. I was actually out to dinner with my cousin and his wife (it was also their anniversary!) and he got the call from my other cousin that their father had died. It was not a good ending to a GREAT evening. My uncle was in a coma due to a massive heart attack since October and there was little chance of recovery...but just finally letting go is going to be so hard for my family. We are going to the wake today and tomorrow, and the buriel is Friday. What a way to start a new year, huh?

Sorry to be a downer, but I just wanted to vent to my DC Family. Everyone, please send Pixie Dust to my family...and hope that everyone can get through this OK.

On a better note, my Grandmother (father's mother) was in the hospital for 10 days due to blood clots in her lungs and she finally got out yesterday! She spent Christmas in the hospital :cry: , but we are going to celebrate Christmas again on Saturday. Thank God she is home.

Every cloud has a silver lining, I guess.

Kim.... Designated driver here! I always get invited to parties, because then everyone has a driver to get home. :D

My dad passed away on December 4th at 71 from heart problems. It's always sad, but especially at Christmas. But, at least we can think of great times at Disney. In fact, my dad joined me & my family at WDW in July. It was the last time I got to see him. Great memories.
