birthday surprise!!!

[color=indigo][list]
Hi, I just wondered if anyone has any good ideas for a birthday surprise for my 9 year old DD. She will be 10 a couple of weeks after our trip in April. We thought about doing something special while we were there. Last year was her last big party until she hits her teens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are staying for a week at the Wilderness Lodge. This our first trip to Disney ever. I know you guys always have the best ideas.

For my DH's 40th bday in July, I had let the Poly know that it was his bday trip and they had a cake, balloons, bday certificate and coloring book and crayons (for DD) waiting in the room on our arrival day. It was great and a wonderful surprise, great way to start off the vacation!!!

Oh, I also got a "It's my birthday" pin from City Hall at MK and made DH wear it all day. He received so many "happy birthdays" from people in the parks and cast members always made a big deal when they saw it.

Whispering Canyon has a birthday celebration. I went there when I was 13 or so and they made all of us birthday people stand up in front of the whole resaurant and answer Disney Trivia questions. If we got all 3 questions right, all the servers would have to ride stick horses around the dining room. If we missed one of the questions we had to ride the stick horses around the dining room. They asked the first question, and being the Disney nut I am, I got it right. They said that had never happened before. All the servers started getting nervous. I missed the second question and we all had to ride around the dining room. It was kind of embarassing, but a lot of fun. (For those that were wondering, the first question was "In the Little Mermaid, what were the two eels names?" A: Fotsom and Jetsom. The second question was "In the Little Mermaid, what was Prince Erics butler's name? A: Grimsby (will never forget that one!))

Whatever you do, be sure to go by Guest Relations in whatever park you are in to get the Birthday Pin. They are all hand painted by an artist there at Disney and each park has a different one.
