I was just thinking of getting them for my DS who is 7 and my DD who will be 6 on our trip in September 2004.
I read that sometimes the CMs will give you better seating, or let you use fastpass or take you out of a long line if you have a GOH Badge. Plus the characters can call them by name.

I have never been taken out of a long line, but it is fun when characters and cm's call you out by name. My mom and dad got their badges quit a few years ago, at that time they were putting your home town underneath your name - just like the cm's.

This has been a popular question lately.
Here is a link to one of the recent thread that can answer most questions you might have: http://www.disneycentral.com/forum/s...of+honor+badge As for taking you out of line to the FastPass one, I have NEVER seen that happen at all. The CM's tend to be very friendly to badge wearers and characters do call you by name. I got one for my 2yo son. On the back, I have his name, my name, and my cell phone number just in case he gets separated from us  He loves it when people call him by his name - makes him feel very important. Plus, the characters will call him by his name which he thinks is great - Belle knew his name and he was SO thrilled! As for the other questions in the thread - They cost about $5 each and you can get them either at the Christmas Shop in Downtown Disney or at one of the shops on MGM. They can etch any name onto it as long as it is a real name (meaning not Mom, Goofy, or Cutie). Hope that helps!

My kids wore them last week - they did get welcomed by name quite a few times but that was it. Some CM's went out of their way to notice their names & at other times - like at the CRT breakfast, the princesses didn't even bother & kept asking my dd her name anyway.
