making reservations myself or going thru a travel agent

I made my reservations last week for March 2005. I got AS Sports, standard room for $109. I had my travel agent look up prices also and she got a quote of $99 for the same room. I called WDW reservations and asked for the $99 but she said there is not a $99 rate at this time. So, I could cancel my reservation and have my travel agent make it. But I hesitate because if the travel agent makes the reservation, I cannot make any more calls about my stay to WDW myself. My travel agent would have to handle everything. So, I am going to keep my $109 and wait and see what happens. What do you all think. WOuld you wait or go thru your travel agent? Since this is a while from now, I can still wait for some other discounts to come around.

I also could not find the best rate with Disney and got a much better rate from an travel agent. My trip is in March and I am getting EVERYTHING the way I had hoped, which WDW could not do. I say go for it. My agent even gave me great ideas and list of possible activities. Im thrilled.:)

Sounds like one of you got a rate for the standard room and the other got the rate for a preferred building which is $10 more per night.

I've always booked myself and never heard of any lower rates. It seems like jmouse is right in one got the standard and 1 got preferred. You can go any way you want, but I dont see the need to bring in extra parties! :-)
