First time posting
Good morning to you all,
First time posting here, and just wanted to say how excited I was to find this board. My family and I are vacation club members, and just came back from our 10th trip to Disney. Here is the breakdown of our hotel stays: 1 Contemporary 2 Polynesian 1 Grand Floridian 1 P.O. Riverside (when it was still Dixie Landings) 1 Wilderness Lodge (my honeymoon) 4 Boardwalk (where we are deeded in the vacation club) It was a magical trip, but now I'm going through the Disney withdrawal and depression. The weather got to be a bit chilly by the end of our trip, but it just meant that we practically had the MK to ourselves. To anyone who hasn't been to WDW since PhilharMagic and Mission: Space, they are both phenomenal. The one thing I would have changed about our trip was our hotel room. I love the Boardwalk, but this time we had a room one floor above the Boardwalk itself, right across from the games. It was very loud, and my three year old son had a hard time falling asleep. Other than that minor thing, it was a wonderful trip, and I can't wait to go back. Any guesses as to what my three year old son's favorite ride was? |

Hello and welcome to DC~I am the Disney Newbie compared to you! How wonderful is it to be a DVC owner. One day I will achieve such status but for right now I had to settle for the off site vacation clubs. I have been to Disney twice and I am hooked. I am currently planning a "girls only" trip in Nov and am getting very excited planning the whole thing!
ok enough babbling...hmm your son's favorite ride.... the elevator (laughing...my dd favorite ride at that age!) anyway I just wanted to say hi and welcome!

Wecome! Please tell us what you liked best about the GF and the WL. I have stayed at the GF on a few visits. I am going to be staying at the WL for 2 nights in March 2005 in addition to other nights at the GF.
Something tells me that your 3 year old son's favorite ride wasn't at Toon Town!

Welcome to DisneyCentral ! since you are a WDW veteran you will be a huge asset to our home away from WDW :) I totally understand PDD (post disney depression or pre disney depression) because I suffer from it !

HI and a big welcome! With all your Diseny experience you will love it here! It is the best place for first timers to learn things and us "old timers" to share things and get our Disney Depression cured! Hope to see you on the boards often. As far as the favorite ride, I will have to go with Tink and say the monorail.

I would have to agree with Tink....come to think of it, the monorail was our son's favorite ride too! So, perhaps I am still partially correct... his favorite ride was not at Toon Town and more specifically,....taking a deep breath now.....OK...I have my composure now.....after all, I am not on the hot seat.....that was from another thread.....
I agree: it was the monorail.

son's favorite ride
Although there were some very good guesses, no one guessed it, so here is the list of his favorites. My boy is almost four, and just made the 40 inch height requirement for some of these:
5. Test Track 4. "The Wet Boat Ride" (Splash Mountain) 3. Big Thunder Mountain 2. It's a Small World 1. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin We must have done the BLSRS a dozen times. He didn't care about shooting anything, just spinning. To answer someone's questions about WL vs. GF, it has been 15 years or so since we stayed at the GF. We stayed at the WL in 1997. The Lodge is incredible. Very beautiful. Great pool. Not much night life compared to other hotels, which can be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. Good restaurants. Try the Buffalo steak at Artist Point. Amazing. |

Hi and let me repeat what all of the others are saying and welcome you to DC! My DD had a few favorites, but surprisingly for her, one of them was spaceship earth lol. She loves the slow ride. She hated HM though, so that was bad.
Hope you enjoy DC as much as we all do. Welcome Again! :)

Hey, I'm pretty new too so I'm not sure if I have the right to say "welcome" but here goes:
Welcome!! :D Sounds like your son has good taste in rides. I like almost all of them, so it would save time to ask which ones I don't like! Favorites though, would have to be: Big Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror and the Mexico ride at Epcot!! No one else likes it though...I guess I'm in my own boat. ;)Now I feel like a REAL newbie (I hate that word) becaue me and my family have NEVER stayed at a Disney Resort. Well my parents MAY have gone to the Contemporary at one point...we were those families that enjoyed the bare necesities of WDW..."bring your own picnic, don't buy the food! No, you may not have a light-up rose! It costs money!" :p It was good times though...if I could choose a resort I'd like the Contemporary, cause it's close and mildy more affordable than Grand Floridian.
