Howdy all! I am finally back online...somewhat. DSL won't be hooked up till Friday & I am having troubles trying to get used to using 56K again, so I'm online, but sporadically. So, other than my net access, I am now fully moved in to the new place in Kissimmee. My WDW interview is scheduled for the 27th. I'm only looking for part time. I don't NEED the job, so I'm not going to take up all of my time with it. This way, I can still have time to enjoy the parks while not working.

I had quite a few adventures while making my move. This should make for interesting reading, so get comfy....

I told the electric company to turn off the electric on the 16th. They turned it off on the 6th. Then, when I called them, they said I'd have to pay a reconnect fee & an additional bill to have the service back on even though THEY screwed up. Nevermind...I'll stay with friends. I also use this as an excuse to come up to Kissimmee & scout out rentals. There were plenty of them, but no one seemed to want to just do the paperwork & let me in... "fill this out, I'll run some things & get back to you in a week or two". Well, I'm not patient. Finally found a place. Quick, easy & cheap move in. Awesome. Got a place, now I need a car. My car is dead. I'm not going to revive it. I want a car. I decide to get a cheap, around town car. I go buy one outright for a few hundred bucks & a half hour later, the engine seized. Got my money back amazingly & tried another lot for a little bit better of a car. This time, I put a few hundred DOWN & agree to make payments. Still, a cheap car. I go pick up my kids & get on the highway. As I'm exiting the highway to go back to where we're staying, I find a problem....NO BRAKES! By the time I reached the end of the off-ramp, I've accelerated to 70MPH & I'm heading into one of the busiest intersections in the county (as well as very active train tracks). So, I try to go with the curve & I figure I'll crash the car into a field that's off to the right. As I'm aiming for that field, I see that there's a man walking a little boy directly in front of me. So, I turn again, just missed the train & finally came to a stop. After the hospital visits, I had had enough. I said forget it & just got a brand new car, warranty, roadside assistance, etc. What a nightmare! So, I plan my move, call to get a rate on a UHaul & they quoted me $200. Fine. I go to get the truck...$400 (weekend rate). Ummm....NO! So, I complained because they had already given me the weekday rate on the phone when I made the reservation. OK...they cooperate. It rained the whole time we were loading the truck, the whole drive up & the whole time we were unloading. Finally get settled it, go grocery shopping & THEN realize that the fridge isn't working. :(

Now, I have a new fridge, new car, we're all safe, my interview is set & we're all loving the area. FINALLY DONE! SO....the next time that anyone is heading out this way, let me know! Would love to put some faces with the names!

Holy cow, Dawn S!!!! What an expereince you had. Sounds like a story that should have been written for one of those TV sitcoms:laugh

dern .. it did sound like you had more then just a little adventure:!: during your move. but I admire how you seemed to just roll with everything that went wrong .. I think I would have been pulling a donald duck !!:(

Wow Dawn. It's great to see you back, but let me ask ya something? Have you ever thought about trying to do something without all the drama? :D I'm glad you got everything moved in and all, although, I am terribly jealous of your new location.;) I'm glad your back. I missed ya.

WE are moving on the 22nd of July! And after reading this i'm not looking forward to it. I'm sorry about your horrible trip! Glad to hear that everything is going good for you. I gotta start packing now and hope CGE doesn't turn off the air to soon! OR we will not sweat to death! LOL...

Ya know, just since I graduated in '94, I have made about 5 "distance moves". I can safely say I have NEVER had an experience like this one. I usually do the spur of the moment moves. Maybe planning is the wrong way to go about it. LOL

That episode with the car was by far, the worst. As it was all going on, all I could do was keep telling my kids I loved them. I was completely sure we were all dead. I wasn't even able to stop shaking long enough to stand up for a half hour. My son must have thought it was NASCAR the way he was giggling & screaming "weeeeeeee!", but my daughter is still quite shaken up by the whole thing.

Thanks for all the well wishes & good luck hopes. I am a little disturbed at the thought of probably STARTING at WDW on the 4th of July, but I'm sure I'll cope. I'm shooting for a position at ToT, so I'll keep everyone informed of where I'll be!

Dawn!!! Oh my Word! You've had a really bad move. I hope we're not going to have to move again. Just found out my husbands company is moving to Mexico and they called them in Tuesday and by that afternoon no one had a job. So....here we go again:devil

I bet you were terrified with the car doing that. I'm glad you're ok. Will you be starting at WDW then on the 4th? Glad your alright and hope everything from here on works out ok.

I have to say, sounds like you did really good driving during that whole terrible car incident. I'm glad you and your kids are fine, Thank GOD! Well, it's nice to see ya back. Good Luck
