Buying WDW park merchandise online question

I've been told many times by CMs that you can buy all the merchandise online that is offered in the shops in the parks and resorts. I get the impression that this is something other than the Disney Store online. There supposedly is a Web site address on the receipts you get from the park shops.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed in another thread, but I've looked and can't find it. At any rate, does anybody know what I'm talking about?

Park Hopper,

You mean there is something that you don't know???? I thought you were the ultimate in information next to Mickey!!!

Seriously, I'm not aware of it but I would like it too. I only know of outside services that will purchase the merchandise for you, but of course the cost goes way up.

There is no website. You must either email or call WDW Mail Order.

actually there is a website where you can buy WDW park merchandise. I have order things from them but not been happy with how long it takes to get my orders and doubt that I will ever do so again.

Ok, I guess I should have said there is no mail order website for ordering directly from WDW. There are some websites that sell WDW merchandise, but you will be paying for the service of someone else buying the merchandise and then reselling it.

WDW Merchandise

You can get some good deals on WDW pins on Ebay. Just type in WDW in the search box and it will pull up a ton of stuff.

I agree mainstreet does take forever. My sister ordered some CD'd for me for my B-day last year. She ordered them a few weeks before my B-Day. I took about 6 weeks total.

mail order

We asked on one visit at one of the stores and the CM stated you can call the store(s) direct and purchase an item. We have only tried it over at DD at the Christmas store but not at an in park store.

You know, Eisner's so busy cutting back on everything for the bottom line that you think this would be a great way to bring in more revenue.

Put up a website or add to the Disney Store site merchandise sold at the parks. I don't think selling exclusive merchandise only at the parks really brings people into the park. They are most likely going for the overall experience. This would increase sales and profits. This just seems to me like more opportunity for income for the bottom line.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Here's the text of a response I got from WDW Merchandising on the subject of ordering online theme park goodies:

"We receive many requests from guest asking us to produce a catalog or website of available merchandise. Unfortunately, this is a very difficult endeavor since our products are constantly changing and we offer so many unique items. For these reasons, we are unable to create a catalog or website at this time.

If you would like to shop from a catalog, we suggest calling The Disney Catalog at 1-800-237-5751. The Disney Catalog, not directly affiliated with our Theme Parks, operates a service outside of our Resort, and offers a wide array of Disney merchandise. You may also shop online with the Disney Stores at www.disneystore.com

As always, we will still be here to assist you with your Walt Disney World merchandise requests. Please be advised that all merchandise which is sold through our theme park shops may not be available by mail order sale. We do not have itemized lists of the merchandise. If you do not have item numbers for the merchandise you are seeking, we will endeavor to locate the item by a detailed description, approximate price and shop location where the item was seen. Once identified, we can determine if the item is available by mail order sale and if so assist you with an order. If the item is not available by mail order the merchandise must be purchased in person at the location and cannot be ordered by phone or by email. You may order available merchandise by phone at 407-363-6200.

We look forward to assisting you with your merchandise needs."

Thank You,
Tina
