Sounds like a good idea!! Count me in.

I've been doing pins for baseball for years, they are very popular at the Little League World series.

A quality pin company can make any design you come up with, any shape, drawing, etc. Some will even design a pin if you give them an idea, although I have found using my own designs most satisfing.

Check with Pin companies they will send catalogues and some will even send samples (always ask), which is important because there are different qualities, and until you see the quality you really wouldnt know the difference.

Some companies I have used are Apex awards, Awards by Wilson, C. Sanders Emblems, Sunshine Pins.

I would highly reccommend Sunshine or C. Sanders.

I can hook you up with contact info if you want. PM me.

Sandi

I like that. I like that a lot. Can we do something with that pin design everyone? I'm already in the mix for pins and I really like this pin design, Matt. I like it better than the smiley.

Just was looking over this thread.
How about a pin in the shape of a CM nametag??
It can be yellow to stand out, but it needs to be a little more
Disney??
How about we get a shot of mickey on the computer at the top?
then DCVIP as the "name" on the tag??
I know, I have a WDWCP pin how about that for an idea??
I'll attatch it here, it's yellow, so I thought why not this direction?
Also adding my Nametag as reference for the cm nametag shape.

All great ideas.... but I don't have graphics software. Everything I've done is with Paint.
So, if we get more extravagant, someone else will have to design it. :)

Wouldn't it be hilarious if, a year from now, one of these new pins shows up on eBay as an "Original DisneyCentral.com DCVIP Membership Pin" with collectors all over the country trying to outbid each other on this incredible collectible!!

Actually, I'm a little bummed out because I doubt the pins will be ready before we go down in May. :(

However, I can't wait for a CM to see the pin, either on me, or one of my kids' lanyards and want to know more about it. ;)

I like the idea of it maybe looking like a CM badge or CP pin, but maybe a little different and a different color. It just makes me wonder if we have worry about copyright issues with something like that. A good idea but I wonder. I like the Mickey in front of a computer, because that is kinda two-fold. Mickey Mouse and our own Mickey The Head Moderator (without whom our beloved DC would not exist) and DCVIP. HMMMMM....

I like it a lot Matt! Great job!

I'm ready to go with this design, but it sounds like others want to play around a bit with some other ideas. That's fine! Nothing wrong with having several options to choose from.

I'll hold off until we get to see some additional submissions.

Thanks again Matt!

We need to decide on a shape or

WOW! What great ideas from everyone! Thank you!

And the # of pins people say they will want is going up. I will go back to the beginning and start to make a list. I know this is an estimate at this time. But it gives an idea of how close we are to 100.

Okay, from what I am reading, I think we agree on YELLOW as the main color of the pin.

And I am reading alot of people like DCVIP. And possibly DisneyCentral.com also on the pin.

Matt and downsouthtigger, your pictures are a great help.
I think the shape of the pin is going to be a big decision! As someone mentioned, the pin company can make almost any shape. I even saw a white glove somewhere. (We could make it yellow.

So any ideas on how to decide on a shape or come up with our emblem for our group? Maybe we can get some ideas then list them on a poll and let the poll decide for us.

How about let's get a list together of shapes for the pin.
So far, Matt's second design seems to be very well liked.
I like a sun shape with DCVIP. The sun reminds me of FL and WDW!
Any other shape ideas for the poll?

One last note on the date, another reason I thought of dating the pin is what if we really like this idea and want to create a new pin each year for our group? In 10 years from now, we could have 10 pins to our set. And they will be dated. We could start our own pin collection for DisneyCentral. I could ask if they could date the back only. Just a thought. However, if most prefer not to date, I truly understand and respect the decision.

I am going to work on a # of how many pins we have accounted for so far.
