Magic Kingdom bricks

Does anyone know when the "Walk around the world" bricks will be available for purchase? If I remember right, the bricks were bought for 10 years or so. After 10 years you had the option to rebuy or give up. If they are given up, then new ones will be made to replace. When will the replacement ones go for sale?

I really really want a brick in front of the Magic Kingdom!!!! I would be willing to pay a premium to get one!!!!

Also, does anyone here own a brick? If so, post a pic. I am sure everyone would love to see it!!!

I saw a lot of empty bricks and spaces last week -- can't we buy one of those?

The blank bricks were designed to be that way in the pathway. There are no unsold bricks.

That would be nice, but when were there, I noticed some areas where the bricks were so worn that you couldn't even read the names on them any more. I sure wouldn't want one in that area. I want to be able to find mine and read it year after year.

What is the length of time you own the brick? Do you get to rebuy at the end of your time?

It just seems to me that some of these bricks are reaching the end of their contract.

as you posted on another thread .. always learning something new I sure had never heard about a time limit. we wanted a brick but couldnt decide what to put on it and waited to late. :hmmm Dixie's family has a brick .. (her husband brushes it off each visit ) I will have to ask her if she knows anything about a time limit on ownership.

I'm not sure about this, but I seem to recall the time limit being for the length of time Disney guaranteed the bricks to stay in place. I don't think there was a time limit on the ownership of them. After the specified time, Disney could do whatever they wanted with them, eg. leave them where they are, move them to another location, etc.

My family members and I have our pictures on one of the walls at Epcot. They said when we purchased them that they would be there 20 years. We bought them in Nov. 2001. I'll be shining them up on May 15. :D :) Joe

Our pictures are to the left and on the second wall as you walk in. I think the wall is an "A" wall. They are about knee high on the right side of the wall on the top row of pictures. I'll show you if you meet us in May. :D :) Joe

The bricks were only guaranteed to be there for a certain length of time. There was no option to renew them.

We have both a brick and the Epcot Legacy picture.

We received our brick as a wedding gift. Here it is. Sorry to blank out the last name, but you never know who is reading these posts!

Awesome Captgoodguy!!! It must feel pretty cool to have your name stamped right in the ground at WDW.

Hey, can I have the empty one right next to yours? I will chisel it myself if I have to!!!

So I guess I was wrong about the 10 year thing and the renewal. I thought I read that somewhere????

I hope they start selling more of these in the future. I guess they want to fill up the walls over at Epcot for a while.

Thanks for the info and the picture.:D

Hey, anyone out there know how much these bricks cost when they were available? How about the pictures at EPCOT? I was really interested in those last year but never bother to find out the cost.
