how neat is this?

Our youngest (5th grader) was assigned to do a report on Walt Disney. His teacher specifically assigned this to him based on our recent trip to WDW. I don't think he will have any problem getting motivated for this project. I'm kinda jealous He'll also have no problem coming up with information to use (all of us are Disney nuts) When I was his age doing reports was not something I really wanted to do but if the teacher had assigned me to do a report on someone as exciting as Walt Disney I would've loved that.

We're trying to schedule another trip this summer, even if it's just a short one. Our AP's expire in October and we're definitely going back then, but with work, kid's summer camp, $$, etc. a summer trip may not work out. Oh well, at least we have our Oct trip to plan for and look to.

Re: how neat is this?

That's great, baloo.
You might want to run to the video store and see if they have a copy of Walt:The Man Behind the Myth. It has a lot of the footage from the One Man's Dream exhibit, runs about 2 hours and gives the complete history of the man, the mouse, and the struggles he went through to form the company. Your child should be able to get a lot of valuable information from that.

That's a great project! I hope my kids end up with things like that for me to "help" them on! I will love it!

Be sure to post if there is anything your son may need or have questions about!

Re: how neat is this?

I think that it is so cool that his teacher assigned this to him. I know he will do great.

Re: how neat is this?

Did you know that Walt Disney was fired from one of his first jobs by a newspaper editor who said "he shows no imagination". Can you imagine that?

Re: how neat is this?

Probably the same guy who told the young Beatles that 'guitar groups were on their way out', and young George Lucas that 'science fiction movies don't make money'.
More proof that we should never give up the dream!
