Good CM tales :)

I know that even I have had my share of bad CM experiences but I was thinking about how the good ones have out numbered the bad. I think there was another thread about CM memories but where I am not sure.
So to start I wanted to tell about the CM at the Poly the year we stayed there.
After I had got us checked in. The girls got the Tour of the Poly. The CM spoke to the girls as if they were the ones in charge ( well hmm when you think about it ... I guess they normally are) as we were introduced to everything available for us during our stay at the Poly. He spoke to them just like he would have spoke to adults and pretty much ignored us *grin*. The girls thought this was just the best.

Re: Good CM tales :)

When I got hurt at BB, it was pretty much a downer for my DD (Brer rabbit) and ruined the rest of the day. When we got back to POR, the CM who was the manager was going out of her way to assist my mother with getting me a wheelchair, and trying to talk to BB's claims dept. The lovely CM shifted her focus to my slightly depressed DD who had her day at BB ruined by mom getting hurt. The CM sat down and talked to her, and asked her who her favorite character was, if she was having fun, where she had the most fun at so far, and other questions to take her mind off what had just happened. Then she took a piglet cast pin off her lanyard and gave it to my DD. My DD did not have any pins at this point and did not even have a lanyard to put it on, so she put it on her shirt. She was so proud of that pin. The CM said she would trade her the other piglet pin she had if my DD had had another pin, but she didn't. My DD said that was OK, she liked the pin she had. That is now her favorite pin and she says she will never trade that pin to anyone, because of the nice CM who gave to her at POR.

I have to thank that CM who went out of her way to comfort my DD on a really bad day for all of us and helped restore a little magic to a vacation that got a little off track. She got our room changed to a handicapped at no charge when that was BB's responsibility, and helped to get my scooter, and pointed us in the right direction to get the assistance I needed to be able to get around for the rest of our vacation. Most of all she helped my DD and gave of herself to a little girl who needed it. Now, that's spreading the magic that's Disney.

Oh, yes. I remember the time when Fred told me to come see Fantasy in the Sky one night, as he would be working after the parade shift, so I went to meet him, and it was so magical, he told me how much he loved me and all the fireworks were going off...

I'm obviously kidding since our (downsouthtigger's and mine) path's never crossed during our CP. Seriously...I'm teasing.

Being a CM myself my expectations of them weren't terribly high since I knew how some of them were rather evil like Malifacent. And...I know this will be cheesy, and everyone will hate me, but...I love the CMs that start the wave at Fantasmic!! There, I said it! I'm sorry! *runs off crying* I like the wave....sniffle...

Re: Good CM tales :)

Aww laura, I remember that, the look in your eyes that night....but then it had to end

Oh but then I remember you liked the cm's that start the wave and that is what drove us apart! I cant stand that wave!
Ah as for good cm stories, I had one today. Me and my speedway crew had to shut speedway down for a while, it was due to either a t-storm or hurricane that was coming. Anyways since we werent open we had to find a way to keep the guests entertained. So one of the guys went to get a ball-zac and we played with all the guests that came buy. It was really fun to watch the kids play catch with the speedway crew. Unfortunatley I didn't join in, being "unofficial" team leader, I watched the skies and kept tabs on what management had to say.
I had another good cm story involving me today: The bookstore I work at, Books-A-Million, has employee appreciation day every 1st of the month. Of course this meant I was going to get a book for myself and since Ashley and I extended our vacation 2 more days I was getting a passporter! Well we only had one left, we used to have tons, but after I recommended themm to all the families that came by, all but one was left. I guess word of mouth got out that an actual cm was working and recommended it. Anyways I had another customer come in and ask for a wdw guidebook. She said someone she knew got one from here and it was recommended by someone who worked there. Knowing she was talking about me I took her over to the section and showed her a majority of the books, I then told her unfortunately the one I recommend isnt up here. She asked me about it and I said, well I wanted to save it for myself since it's the last one, but if it's the one you want I'll gladly let you take a look to see. She took a hassle free guide to wdw and the passporter. After half an hour she came back and stated how the passporter was a really cool book, but she was only going for one day. I then took her over and showed her another book I really recommend, the Econoguide to WDW. Her kids then got whiney stating that their feet hurt and they took off their shoes and gave em to mamma. Well she was upset and just left, buyin the Hassle free guide. So in the end I got my passporter, but I was willing to give it up, just for a guest. It made me feel so disney! I know it was a small thing, but I know too many people that wouldve kept it for themself than help someone out.
