Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
I'm also planning an April trip. Since it's my first I can't tell you how well any of these work but mousesavers.com list a couple of reputable places to buy discounted tickets (ticketmania, discountorlandovacation, mapleleaf). They will save you around $5 in advance purchase tickets. If you subscribed to their newsletter, they will occasionally offer additional discounts. The first 2 currently offer free shipping.
Hope you don't mind if I add to your question - Does anyone had a bad experience with any of these? Is there any advantage to buying from Disney such as convenience in ticket use? |

Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
I like buying from Disney because I can use my resort key as my ticket. It just makes it easier for us. One less thing to keep up with.

Yes, each person in your family is issued a key. If your passes are added on, you just use your resort key for entrance to the parks and for the fast passes. You can even have it set up so that you can make charges using your key.

Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
we've always planned through Disney like that, and it works well. The official website is fairly user friendly to get prices and such.
good luck :D OffKilterFan

Plus, if you lose your resort key, if seems like it would be easy to replace. With tickets, if you don't photocopy them, you would be out of luck if you lost them.

Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
yes, the employees are very nice about replacing key...the had to replace ours because they didn't work on our room! haha! I believe I've read that if you lose a plastic key, the code can easily be deactivated, while it's a little harder on paper tickets. Not sure about the technical garble behind it, but I suppose it makes some sense. I think it has to do with the fact that the computer has the code for your key already programmed, while they don't bother to computerize all the paper tickets sold (which makes sense)

Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
I've bought tickets through the Disney Store. I'm not sure if they still sale tickets though. Last trip, purchasing park hoppers through Disney was cheaper than using Mapleleaf. Don't always assume the discount places will be cheaper than Disney. If you are military, you can also purchase park hoppers on base at a significant discount. Check AAA also if you are a member with them.

Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
We have always bought tickets from Disney. Last year we had advance "room only" reservations and added our tickets through Disney right before we left home. Having your room key as your ticket and adding tickets to "room only reservations" only applied in the past if you bought length of stay tickets. We have also bought Annual Pass vouchers from the local Disney Store. Since the ticket descriptions have changed this year we haven't decided on the type yet. Will probably purchase one Annual Pass because of the benefits and four ten day parkhopper plus non expiring. Still haven't decided though.

Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
i turns out that with "ticketmaina" and all these places the tickets arent really THAT much cheaper than buying them early from www.disneyworld.com basically the disney website comes out more because of shipping and taxes (maybe a few dollars) and i think that it's better to not have to worry if the ticets are "good" or not

Re: best place to buy disney tickets?
I buy mine directly from Disney. I like the not worrying aspect. Plus I've never really looked around for anything cheaper - we get the FL Resident discount, I figure that's better than nothing.
