Unread Messages option?
I used to have an option in the red bar at the top of the post page to read unread messages. Now it's gone. The strange thing was when I first came to DC, I didn't have it and then all of the sudden I did and now I don't again. Am I doing something to make this come and go? Is there someway to get it back? Or am I just crazy?

Ever since DC started using this version of the message board software, I have noticed some quirkiness in it. I have expressed my dismay in it's inability to handle long pointers, it's inability to handle deleting email addresses when they become obsolete, its waste of screen space (too much white on the screen), and the inability of the > option to transfer you to the very last page for long threads - which maybe related to long pointers. For each problem except the email address problem, I have received no answers. Perhaps the moderators do not know the inner workings of this software and are more like users so you may not get an answer. I hear that they are very busy. (I am not knocking the moderators. They do a good job and I am very grateful for their work!) They may not have knowledge of the inner workings of this software, which is where these problems probably lie. This version of the MB software is very quirky.

This is one mod who doesn't know the inner workings of the software. What I know about DC has come from being a member/user here for 2+ years. Our mod duties are very simple and limited, we keep an eye on our forums and DC in general for any problems. We have no special powers beyond that and no special software training.
To get to the last page of a thread I click on the "read last post arrow" and then move up the page to the last post I read and go from there.

Hi. Sorry to hear you are having issues over there. Definately pm mickey and let him know the issue or wait until he sees this thread. The mods don't have any control over softwares issues as DT said. We monitor posts and threads only. Sorry about that...wish there was something else I could do for you.

Sorry CRBNut, us mods don't have any power of the software. In some ways that dissapoints me, but in others I am very gald!!
I agree that I don't like some of the features. I wish we could have more than 70 messages, because I get a lot of very helpful stuff in my inbox, and would love to be able to save it.
