Post count for games and trivia forum

OK, I had this question posed to me, and wanted to know how everyone feels about this.

Many of the posts in the games and trivia forum are basically just short little replies as part of a game. It has been suggested that we do not count posts in the games and trivia forum towards the total post count on DC.

Now, I am not sure what this will do to current post counts, it may put some of you back a couple of posts. Look at it this way, you can become a big cheese twice.

I post on the games cause I love them, not because of any imaginary rankings. If it makes people feel better though, then it should be done I think. I totally understand either way. I try to refrain from posting unless I think I can add some value to the thread. However, I am online a lot and love to talk.

Perhaps we should consider a non-Disney Chit Chat board that does not count as well to talk about other things worth bringing up.

I understand completely... I play the games cause they are fun, but they really don't add any value to the discussion board.

If you are taking suggestions...I think it would be great if there was a section just to post pictures. Is that a possibility or would it cause a problem with bandwidth, etc.? I LOVE pictures.

:) its fine by me too .. heck makes no difference to me if I am cheesy or not besides it might make it look as if I am not as annoying as I am *grin*

Either way is fine with me. I don't think the number of posts is THAT big of a deal. It's fun to watch post counts grow, however, that's not the point of DC. We are all here to share information with other Disney lovers.

Thanks, Matto ;) I have already posted some of my pix and enjoyed yours as well :D You have definitely taken the first step. I just thought maybe if we had a specific area it would be easier to find...but I will continue to add to your thread.

Mickey, I feel the same way, but also wanted to add that if you wanted to do away with post counts so that doesn't become the issue, that would be very okay with me, too. That this issue was brought up with you makes it important to someone though, but the work behind what you are suggesting is a mere triffle to the work of running a forum.

hey thats works :) I dont think the post count is that important.

I worried a little about what DisneyAnne asked too about the pictures causing you problems with bandwidth, I love seeing the pictures and I love to show off mine but I try not to get carried away and try making them smaller so that poor folks like me dont have to sit and wait 30 minutes for them to load.

ooops before anyone gets their feelings hurt let me say I love all the pictures and I didnt mean that everyone should make them smaller, please dont anyone take this as a complaint

Or you could get an outside photo album (like Searsphoto) and just put a link in a post here to share them like I did with my trip pictures the other day. That worked great and everyone actually got to see a lot more pictures than if I had just picked a few to post here.

I did the same thing but I linked to Yahoo photos from my trip report. It would just be great if there was one place to load them all instead of jumping from server to server, but I will do whatever is necessary to fill my Disney addiction...;)

I personally am offended by your comments Tink... Just because geeman is a better photographer than me doesn't mean that you shouldn't want to see my pictures....:(

Haha....well now you are asking for it. You don't know me and pictures!! Just wait until I get back in June...there is going to be TONS of pictures. I always just post a link to my Shutterfly.com album, because I can't get my pictures to the right size. Just remember that you asked for pictures when you see my june album...hehe;)
