I agree about updating the content...I usually navigate to the posts from the homepage and have noticed that the news is a bit dated...it doesn't stop my enthusiasm for or dedication to this community (been a member for over 3 years now). The threads & content are excellent, but some folks 'surfing' or visiting the site for the first time could take the lack of updates negatively. I know Mickey has to be very busy and I appreciate everything he does, but maybe some of the moderators or others could help with some news/content updates if given the right permissions? Just a suggestion...I'll still be here no matter what!

There might be old news on the front page, but yet we still get new members. I'm thankful for the site and the work Micky does. And no matter what the front page says, we all get freaked when the site is down from time to time, so the news isn't what draws us. As far as having to scroll all the way pass the old news, if it was time I was trying to save, I'd stay away from MB. That would save me hours each day, so 2 secs for scrolling is not going to bother me.



So to Micky and all the mods, thank you for the time and effort you put into this site. This site is more than disney, there is laughter and friendships around that I would have never expected.

You don't know how long it was before I knew there was something more THAN the homepage. I only read the threads on the front page, I had NO idea what happened to them after that.

Under Options you can set "newest thread first" then you don't have to scroll down to get to the newest thread.

My sentiments, exactly! Thanks for stating better than I did! I do use quick links (since it was pointed out) but the point is... there is a homepage, and it is very outdated. I am not saying that new content needs to be added, but the very old should be deleted!!!

Hey All! I know the last time this thread was viewed was back in May but I tend to think of it daily when I vist teh site (multiple times)! I no longer search through teh homepage, I use teh Quick Links but I am still bothered by the fact that teh old info is teh first thing seen by newcomers!

Is there anyway we can just delete last years news, just take that section out? I know there is so much going on at Disney, that people would be interested in, but if no-one has the time to update the site then the homepage should be generic! I realize that by posting this I am putting myself out there to be beaten, but we are viewing info a year old now! I would be glad to help, but to be honest, I KNOW NOTHING about designing a web page! I would be glad to help if someone wants to direct me!!!

I think you make a good suggestion about having a "generic", non-dated homepage. It's a good compromise.

From the looks of this site it is a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) kinda site, which means anyone with a back end log in and password can update it. Maybe one of the mods can talk to Mickey and one of them can do it?? Not to put more work into someones lap, but just make it generic like suggested.

Maybe a more who & what this site is about? And maybe just the yearly promotion Disney is running . . . they seem to do them for two years, so that would cover us!

This is the BEST Disney site out there with GREAT members. I can help if anyone wants me too?

You are singing to the choir, nokeynose. Some of us have tried to hint at this. It is very bad when newcomers see this front page looking like it does. It should be, like you said, generic if it can't be updated in a timely manner.

I didn't know this. I just thought that from the earlier posts in this thread that the "oldtimers" were happy with the site and figured they didn't usually hit on the homepage so why worry about the way it looks! I am relieved to find out that is not the view!

It really is too bad that this can't just be done! I didn't want to say that noone cares, but since you brought it up, that is exactly how it looks! We have to get this changed!!!!
