Some pics work some don't.

Hey there!

I seem to be having an odd problem. In the posts I am reading I have noticed that I only get some of the images for Avatars and none of the images attached to the post.

I tried all the options in the control panel like switching to a downloadable url instead of instant graphics and what not but I still cant get the pics.

I am on Broadband (cable) and have had no problems on other sites for graphics. I noticed the forum rules box below this text insert box as saying the following:

You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may post attachments
You may edit your posts HTML code is OFF
vB code is ON
Smilies are ON
[IMG] code is OFF

Are these codes the problem. If they are how do I turn them on? I thought I pushed every button there was except of course yours.:D

Do you get an error code when you try to post them, or does it just seem to work, adn then nothing shows up?

My guess is that the images that you are trying to post exceed the size restrictions of the forum. Avatars are limited in size to 100 pixels in each direction, and attachments are limited to 100k in size, no limit on dimensions.

Let me know if that could be what is wrong. If not, I will check into it a little more.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. It turned out to be related to some software my DH installed... Norton Internet Security. My DH had to go back in and adjust some things. Do you have similar software that could be causing the problem? If so, I can ask DH exactly what he did to correct the problem.

Mickey: I'm not trying to post pictures...I just cant see any of them posted by others , including some avatars.

Dab: I saw you had something similar but the thread died with no overt resolution. So by all means ask about Norton interference.

You know, if I would just read the post before I started writing, it would save a lot of confusion. You had "view images" set to off in your control panel, so I switched that for you. Let me know if that helps.

I had turned the view images set to off because I was pushing all the buttons to try to get it to work.

Unfortunately, the changes you have made, haven't worked.

I still see at the bottom of the screen in the forum rules box that IMG code is off. Does this mean anything? It showing the following:

Forum Rules:
You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may post attachments
You may edit your posts

HTML code is OFF
vB code is ON
Smilies are ON
[IMG] code is OFF

The IMG code has to do with being able to post images in the threads rather than viewing them. My guess is that it has to do with some set up in your system, most likely having to do with cookies. Let me take a look at your account again, and you may want to consider deleting all of your DisneyCentral cookies.
