Icon9 Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

Does anyone else get continuous runtime and script erors when they go to a thread in the forum? My computer asks me if I wish to debug? When I say no, the same box pops up another probably (somewhere) 3-10 times. It has only been doing this recently, before the site moved (it was only on certain threads then, now its on every one). Can anyone help me and tell me how I can get this to stop or will it just stop naturally when Mickey gets the site up and fully functioning? HELP!!! It's getting a little annoying.

Well, that's interesting to know. Maybe something is up with my system and I need to run a check.

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

Most likely there is a scripting mistake somewhere. I will take a closer look tomorrow to see if I can pinpoint it. Is it only when you go to threads, or elsewhere?

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

It's just when I go to the threads. I was looking on Microsoft for a resolution, because i think the problem may also lie with my machine because it occurred before the server move. I think it may have to do with a critical update that altered the way my computer is reading or misreading the scripts. Tink is not having a problem reading them and neither is my mother (sjpurple) and no one else is complaining, so I believe that some of the problem may lie with scripting engine on my computer having been corrupted at some point recently and I think I know when . I am also working on trying to fix it, and I'll let you know when I have achieved computer nirvana again in this department.

Because this is about to bug me to death.

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

Someone has an error in their countdown. You'll notice that each thread you get that error on will have a post by the same person.

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

I noticed that this only occurs on DC and not anywhere else so I am beginning to think that it may not be my machine, but that my machine is picking it up.

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

I figured it out!!!!

If you remove the old countdown script then you won't get a script error when each page loads. Everyone needs to remove their old countdowns, if they have not already.

Lawwin:

Out of curiosity, what version of IE are you running? I believe there's a way to turn off script verification.

I'd imagine that you'll get this error on some other websites as well.

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

I am running IE 6 and did you take your countdown out of your signature? and no, I don't get errors on any other websites. By the way, this is lawwin I'm using my DD's account to fix her signature and remove her countdown.

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

I'm just waiting for mickey to post a new countdown script. He said that he was going to write one because the old one would not work on this new site, but that we would have our countdowns back soon. The thread was on the site yesterday and I'm sure you can find it on here under Disney Central questions??

Re: Runtime Errors & Script Errors?

I put the old code back up, with some minor modifications so that it will work. I am looking for a better script that will be less intensive on the server. For now, the countdowns will work.

Lawwin, you may see errors, due to the fact that if there is a countdown in someone's signature, and it is incorrectly input, it throws off an error. You could turn of debugging, it is bugging you.
