the ads on DC

Mickey do you get any benefit to our clicking on the advertisments? I love DC and if clicking on ads helps you keep it going ... then I will be-a-clicking :)

Re: the ads on DC

No, not really for clicking. For a purchase, yes. If you are buying something from amazon, you can just click on one of the book links on the front page, or the amazon banner, and we do get a small percentage, but every little bit helps to pay the rent. Same goes for the other sponsors, we get a small percentage. The reason for the move was that we had outgrown our server, and had to move to a dedicated server. Much nicer, faster, etc, but definitely more expensive.

I wish I had known that before. I'm using Quicksilver for the town-car, but I didn't click through DC to get there.

Re: the ads on DC

Darn! Mickey, I often purchase from Amazon and I have not used the link on the DC front page yet! I definitely will plant a seed in my head to remind me to order thru the DC link in the future.

I am positive that other members would also use the links (esp. at a site like Amazon since they do not offer "incentives" for shopping as many other dot com companies do) if they were aware of the fact that it'd help (even in a small way) support the board. Perhaps you could post a "heads up!" message on the front page occasionally . . .

Re: the ads on DC

I intend to use Quick Silver for January so I will remember to do it from here. Wish I knew sooner. Consider me a "clicker".

Tink, yes, that is right. Sorry I missed this post. Hope you find the book you are looking for. Remember if you spend $25, they give you free shipping. It is always easy to find another book or DVD you are interested in.

Re: the ads on DC

DARN! Just yesterday I ordered the new Disney Treasures DVDs (coming out in December). I didn't realize the 'credit' you get. Now that I do know, I promise that whenever I order from Amazon (or any other sponsors), I will link to them via DC. I want to support this wonderful site.

Proud to say I just helped support DC .. 3 math books!! I cant remember but I believe I used the click through when I purchased my NET and my THEA books too, not to mention the last two DVD's I bought at Amazon :)
