discounts for seaworld?

Hi,

We are planning staying in Disney world for 13 days. My oldest asked about seaworld. Can we do this park in one day and are there any discounts found anywhere? We have enough time to do it, but is it worth it. We were'nt planning to rent a car down there, beacuse we are staying in the kingdom resorts. Any info would be helpful and appreciated.

Thanks

Janelle

Yes, you can do SeaWorld in one day. It is much larger and nicer than the SeaWorld in San Diego, which was the last on I visited. They have installed a couple of very nice rollercoasters, and some other fun attractions to keep up with the competition. You can find discounts to SeaWorld all around. Just look for one of the tourist newspapers or magazines, there should be one there. Also, I believe they give a discount to AAA members. I have also seen discount tickets available on the web, but I would wait to purchase the tickets, just in case you decide not to go. Is it worth it? I guess it depends on how much you like SeaWorld. Being there 13 days, I am assuming you are purchasing an annual pass, or something similar. I always find it hard to pay $50 per person to go somewhere else when we can get into a Disney park for free.

You could always take a cab to SeaWorld and back, it is less than 10 minutes away from any of the resorts. SeaWorld used to offer a shuttle from the Downtown Disney area, but I am not sure if they still do. I will see if I can find out.

Thanks Mickey

Yeah, we are planning on buying an annual pass. My thought exactly on spending more money, but I live in a land locked state. So seeing seaworld may be worth the money. Have to figure it all out. Does disney do shuttles anywhere becide the parks and other dw properties?

Thanks again

No, Disney only does buses between their resorts and their parks. They don't go anywhere outside WDW. Many of the hotels outside WDW offer shuttles to local areas, but they aren't nearly as nice or prompt as the Disney transportation. SeaWorld has shuttles between SeaWorld and Busch Gardens in Tampa, as well as between SeaWorld and Universal. They also used to have a shuttle between SeaWorld and Downtown Disney, but I can't find any information on it any more, so it may be discontinued. I would call SeaWorld directly and ask if you are interested.

No thanks, you don't need to call for me. I have a feeling we will rent a car for the day, maybe two. Want to show the kids the ocean. Thanks for all the information!!! The website has been very useful.

Thanks

Just my two cents....

If it works with your budget, I would definitely suggest getting a rental car for a day or two. It always bothers me when I hear of people visiting the area for so long & never venturing out if WDW. I know, we all love WDW, but I think people are robbing themselves if they don't at least take a brief drive around the area to soak up the sights! There is SOOO much to do here! When I first started coming to Orlando, I was always on a limited budget, with annual passes, so I couldn't spare the $ to GO to the other attractions, but it was really cool to drive around & see it all & it helped me to come up with a future to do list when finances allowed more exploring.

As far as park-to-park transportation, every park offers it except WDW. They're way too self centered to let you see what else is around here. LOL Just kidding, guys, but I had to say it. :laugh

Sea World is an awesome place, but it would appeal most to people who either are "landlocked", as you are or people who have an interest in marine life already. I would suggest it is surely worth the time if you fall in these categories & can afford to go. Like I said, I am STRONGLY opposed to being totally imersed in WDW, so I am biased. I never realized how much I was missing by only going there for so many years!!

If you need any other info or tips on local sights or such, just let me know! I'm sure your family will have a wonderful time here!
