Holiday Inn Family Suites

We have reservations for 6 nights in October for Holiday Inn Family Suites. Has anyone stayed there? I just wanted to know how the experience was. We mainly picked it for the free breakfast, and kids having their own room.
We booked it through expedia and got a great deal with airfare and rental car.
We're pumped!

Re: Holiday Inn Family Suites

I had a friend who stayed there last year and said it was great. Like you said, the free breakfast, being on site also is a plus to save time.

We are staying 2 nights there before going to Saratoga Springs. We got a great rate using the Entertainment card. We like the free breakfast too.
You can also get discount meal certificate for the restaurant at restaurants.com. Go to mousesavers.com for the link. A real money saver.

I am so happy for you guys! This hotel is wonderful IMVHI. My DH and I took our tewo DD there in May of 03 and they just had a ball! The first night we were there, they had their faces painted ( for free), there was a majic show going on, they got "free" tokens to play in the arcade and went swimming in their awesome pool. Of course at 5 and 8 they wanted to stay there though! The food is such a great perk! You can't beat the continental breakfast. Maybe I'm just a hick who hasn't stayed in a lot of hotels, but I have NEVER seen one like this before. You really could get ANYTHING
And as many times as you want. I've heard people complain about how packed it can get, but we were there at all different times and always found a table.
The transportation is something you definately want to take advantage of. We drove down and weren't to sure if we were going to use it, but once we tried it, we liked it. The only place you might want to drive to is Typhoon Lagoon, because we would have had to take like 3 different buses to get to it and this hotel is literally less that 5 min. away from Disney.
The rooms are really great! Our girls just thought they were princesses in their own castle and they even had their own tv. Very roomy!
We were a little far away though so every day we drove to the lobby to wait for the bus. But that could also be because it was horrible humidity and we are used to NY weather
I hope you and your family have a great time! I'm in the middle of planning our next trip and I'm still not ruling out going back! We just want to try onsite this time! Have fun

Re: Holiday Inn Family Suites

We are going to stay here is November. I just hope it is neat even with the construction and change over going on. The website says things like the lobby and arcade have been moved. That does not sound like as much fun. I'll have to cross my fingers they will get a lot done between then and now.

Re: Holiday Inn Family Suites

I have stayed there and you will love it. HIFS is up to Disney standards, and has a wonderful list of amenities. My favorite is the free breakfast, on site you spend $7 dollars a person for the same breakfast that is GIVEN to you at HIFS. The pool is also nicely decorated, and the room layout/setup is wonderful!!!! The regular suites(Kidsuites are slightly different) have a bunkbed area for the kids that is seperated from the "living room" by a curtain, so no worries about them locking themselves in. The main bedroom has its own door, and TV. Oh I forgot to tell you there are 3 TV's, so no arguing about what you are watching!!!!

Re: Holiday Inn Family Suites

My brother in law and his family stay there each time they go to WDW. They found it because they are a family of 6 and didn't want to pay the extra $$ for two value rooms, but now they wouldn't stay anywhere else!! They love it!

I know what you mean. Those are exactly the reasons we picked it. The free breakfast, and the kids can have their own room incase we start to get on each others nerves, we can take a break.

Re: Holiday Inn Family Suites

HIFS is a great hotel, if we had a big group, I would not think twice about staying at HIFS again.
