Looking for those awesome hotel deals I got in 2002?
Hello,
I'm back again after a 2-year absence to begin planning my next WDW trip. When I went in 2002, this board helped me save tons on money on hotels and our rental car. I couldn't believe the deals we got--$25/night at the Courtyard Marriott, and awesome Canadian@Par rates at the Polynesian. I've browsed the boards enough to realize the Marriott is no more, but are there still great hotels deals like that to be had? I'm considering going for 4 or 5 nights in early December. Thanks, Susanne

Susanne -
Hi there! Nice to see you. I would highly suggest contacting Mousektrips on the front page. It's mickey's (DC's host) disney only travel agency. If there is anyone who can steer you in the right direction in regards to saving $$ on WDW, it's him. The first week of December is value season and you are going to be able to get the value rates at the WDW resorts, so deifnately try for one of them. How many people are going with you? If I had a little more information, I may be able to help a bit more. Are you going to get a package deal or room only? Maybe you should consider getting an AP and booking a room only and having the chance of saving some big $$ on a room using the AP discount codes. Take a look at the front page to see what this year's AP discounts are for December...very nice.

I think discount WDW resort rates will be coming out soon.

I second Dana's suggestion to use Mouseketrips. I'm going to WDW in November and they were able to get me the AP discounts that I wasn't able to get myself when I called WDW direct. They saved me a TON of money!

Get on Disney's email list.
A few months ago, I got an email offer with a personal pin number (i.e., no one else could use the code). The end result, I got three rooms at the Caribbean for $79/night each. I've found no cheaper price anywhere. It was cheaper than the AP rate, and all the discount codes reported by Mouse Savers. It's cheaper than the value season rate of the Value Resorts. The offer also could have gotten us a standard room at a value resort for only $49/night.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!
We will be travelling with 2 adults and 2 kids, ages 2 and 4. We're considering offsite because with kids that age, it would be nice to have a room with a kitchenette. How do I get on the Disney mailing list? Thanks again, Susanne

If you'd like a kitchenette and still want to stay on-site, have you considered the Wilderness Homes in Ft. Wilderness? They have a kitchen and bedroom and are not part of DVC.

Unless some new discounts come out, I don't think the Ft. Wilderness cabins would be in our budget
, but thanks for the idea.Susanne
