Kids FREE at Universal saved us big $$$$

We went to purchase our Universal tickets today for our January trip and they are running a Kids Free promotion. It worked out for us big time. For every Universal Bonus Adult Pass (119.00 + tax for 5 concectutive days) you recieve one child (0-9) pass free. It worked out to save us $180 bucks.

I would only suggest this is you are planning to go for 2 or more days and that you have at least 2 adults and two children 9 and under. We've got 3 adults & 3 children so it was a big saver for us. So instead of paying $555.00 for 3 A/3 C for 2 days, we spent $378.00 for 6 tickets

Here's the url:

https://tickets.universalstudios.com...sp?merchant=UO

Hope this helps someone ~

Jen

ps ~ i just saw this:

Restrictions: Free ticket(s) is only valid for Kids ages 3-9. First day of admission must be used by February 10, 2005.

I love Universal, but there just isn't enough there for more than 2 days, maybe a third. There might be for first time visitors, but we've been there so many times, it's become a very surgical exercise. How many times can you watch the Blues Brothers and Beetlejuice? IOA needs a new coaster and another thrill ride. I wish they'd bring back the Miami Vice stunt show. That was a nice way to close the park, and probably as long a show as Fantasmic. I saw the fireworks in IOA in August 2003 (yes they have them once in a while) and they were so lame! I'm spoiled, what can I say?

That sounds like a great deal Jen, but it wouldn't work for me since lil brer is 11 soon to be 12. she's too old for me to take advantage of that deal. Next time we go to WDW, I have to pay adult prices for her at meals and stuff. We were already paying adult prices on tix. I hate when kids grow up. Another milestone gone. Next year, is Junior High School.

I know what you mean Lawwin ~ DS Nik goes to High School next year.

Yeah, the plan is good only if you've got the little ones. For our friends, they are buying one 2 day pass and one bonus pass that comes with the free one for her daughter. They're still saving bucks, but not as much. It just worked out for us since Nik is considered an adult and that makes 3 with 3 free.

Re: Kids FREE at Universal saved us big $$$$

Sorry to deviate a bit from the original thread which is a good one but as usual I agree with Soundgod ( one of DCs top contributors and always a good read )................well almost.

The Miami Vice Stunt Show was excellent. It's amazing how many visitors to Universal Studios that I've spoken to have never seen it...............how long has it been since it was dropped ? Pre IOA maybe.........can't remember. Must be a few years now. Anyway it was an exciting end to a day at the studios and not only that but do you remember standing on the bridge down nearby where M.I.B is now and watching them practise on the speedboats during the day ?

I would have agreed with you on the time scale thing until we stayed on site for a week with a length of stay pass and found that we took more time absorbing the atmosphere ( ok it was Xmas ) but nevertheless things moved at a less frenetic pace between rides and US was the better for it.

Also they've added " The Mummy " now............I can't wait to try that one out..........and the standards like Jaws and BTTFuture are still pretty good don't you think............but point taken........ extra rides at both IOA and US can't be far from the planners drawing boards. I even heard rumours of a THIRD park being built. How good would that be !

Re: Kids FREE at Universal saved us big $$$$

They have now extended this offer. Now, you just have to use them by Dec. 27th, 2005. DH was checking out their site trying to convince me to spend a few days there when we go at Christmas. Since he bought the tickets when he found the deal, I guess we will be staying 2 nights at Universal on our upcoming trip. I can't complain though, 13 night at Disney and 2 nights at Universal.

Re: Kids FREE at Universal saved us big $$$$

These tickets were great. Using the will call machines was very easy. Also, when the tickets are printed, they all say adult bonus. We were able to use Nadia and Tommy's extra bonus ticket for her father. I'm glad to see they extended the offer till Dec 2005. It's a great deal.

Rob Parsons ~ you're gonna love the Mummy. And anyone who's going to IOA ~ do not miss Spiderman. It's a one of kind attaction!

Re: Kids FREE at Universal saved us big $$$$

Thanks Jen................we're really looking forward to riding Mummy. Some friends have recently returned from IOA and said it was one of the best they'd ridden.

Funny but it just shows how much redevelopment is going on at the Parks because whenever we visit Orlando or Los Angeles there is always something new being built while we're there.

Great don't you think.

Also...........following on from something I wrote earlier........has anyone else heard the rumours from both Disney and Universal about building new Parks ?
I'd love to get more info on those........if the rumours are true that is.

I've visited sites like " Themeparkinsider " and " All Ears" but not much there at present.
