Car Rental ?

Is there a car rental spot on-site or near Disney?

We would like to take a day to take the kids to Kennedy Space Center so unless there is a bus running to there, the best bet is to rent a car for a day.

Tks

Yes, National Car Rental. You can get all the details at your resort.

Yes, National is on site, though there are rumors that they are no longer the offical partner, so that may not be true for long. I know that Hertz has an office in the Marriott World Center, and I am sure that all of the other major companies have offices just outside WDW. I would assume that most of them have shuttles to get you to the office and back.

Goofy: Having fun planning your visit? It's almost the best part of going!

Several years ago, when staying at Port Orleans, we rented a car for 1 day from National.

At that time, National had an office near the Ticket and Transportation Center on site. I gave them a call, they sent a bus to pick me up and take me to the office. I rented the car there for the day and drove back to the PO to get the family.

At the end of the day (we went to Universal Studios for a day) I dropped the family off at PO, took the car back to National, and the bus brought me back to PO. Very simple. Very easy.

At that time, the Disney Club offerred discounts on national car rental, but they have dropped so many benefits that you would have to check now. Smallworld

Sometimes fun, other times just plain stressful ! :dazed

I am not a member of the Disney Club and like Mickey said, National might not be there for long. Glad it was a smooth experience for you.
I think I will let it ride until I get there. I'm sure the Front Desk will help at that time. Not sure what day we would go anyways so can't call ahead and reserve. Not a big deal in the scheme of things.
