Dining with Shamu

Has anyone done this at seaworld? What is the food like? Do you really get to see Shamu jumping around? I booked this for our day at SeaWorld but it was rather expensive so I wanted to know if you think it's worth it.

Re: Dining with Shamu

We went last july and had a great time. The food is done buffet style and the kids get a seperate buffet if they do not want to eat from the main buffet. I would recommend trying to get one of the tables closest to the water..you sit about 3 feet from the water.. so you can get a better view.

I love the picture that up close and personal. I was thinking of the shark underwater grill myself or the luau. Never done the shamu lunch but they all look like fun

Re: Dining with Shamu

Dinner with Shamu is a must do at Sea World. I did this as a suprise for DH when we went last year and it was worth every penny. We not only enjoyed time alone with a trainer to talk and ask questions, but the food was outstanding. You are so close. I have a pic where you can actually count his teeth.
Here is a link to a prior discussion we had about this topic.

IMO----do it! You will enjoy it!

Re: Dining with Shamu

I saw this when looking into Sea World for October. My DD really wants to do the mega tour, so I think we are going to have to skip this. I want to do it, but my day at Sea World would be really expensive if I added that to the $89 tour. please report back on it. I can't wait to hear of your experience. I love the picture.,..looks so cute!

Re: Dining with Shamu

Just a note in general - the food at Sea World is really very, very good. As much as I love WDW, I have to admit that the food at SW beats them hands down. Try a piece of their chocolate layer cake - it's unbelievable!!

Re: Dining with Shamu

This sounds like I made a good choice. I can't wait to try it. We haven't been to sea world in a few years so I am really looking forward to it.
