Icon7 Just Stayed At the Nick Hotel

Our family just returned from 11 day WDW trip and we stayed three days at the Nickelodeon Hotel because I was very interested in it. I have two boys ages 6 and 10 and stayed in a two bedroom kidsuite. This place is great. Wounderful theming and what I think must be the best pool in all the US for kids. The hotel has two amazing pools that have 3 to 6 water slides each and other cool water stuff. One pool puts on three Nick shows and they are so much fun. My little on even got slimed. They put on a Nick family show each night. Some are better then others. You either have to be pre choosen or they do have some shows they pick from the audience. We were in it and it was so much fun and won prizes. The have a large arcade and charater breakfast. WE stayed in a room facing the parking lot and a lagoon on the fifth floor and could see WDW fireworks each night. The sevice was great and very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. My boys loved it.
The drawbacks are you must remember that this was a Holiday Inn , so it set up like that, and the rooms are small. The pictures on the wedsite are not true to size. Also its loud. I would not ask for a room by the pool. Too close and loud. Facing the parking lot ended up to be a blessing. Eveything is very close together, not alot of greenery. Kids eat free ( up to 3 with one paying adult) but an adult dinner is $17.99. Food choice is limited. Kids room only has a curtin to seperate it. But I still was happy with the space. And the kids loved the sponge bob room.
All in all if my kids were the right age I would return. Hope this helps you all.

Re: Just Stayed At the Nick Hotel

Thank you for the information. If I had kids I would prob stay here. I do have someone that I work with that was just talking about the Nick Hotel the other night... He said that his daughter saw it on line and insisted that the next time they go to Disney they have to stay there. I'm going to pass along your info to him. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info. The place looks fun for kids. If my DS has his way , we'll be staying there ourselves someday....

Re: Just Stayed At the Nick Hotel

I actually thought of it for the US/IOA portion of our vacation, but the prices were much higher than I would have thought for a Holiday Inn. I know it has great theming, but for the same price, we're on-site as US/IOA and are getting the FOTL perks at great resort.

We stayed at Old Key West the first part of our visit and you feel it is the same distance. You Drive right out of the Hotel make a left and head staight to Disney. Its like your at a Downtown Disney Resort. They so have a shuttle to both Disney and Universal. And the times looked good, but I hate Shuttles. I only took it once from Old Key West. You can get some great rates. We had a large group and I got a van (New) for $276 for the week. tax, everthing included.

* A note beacuse of WDW great meal plan I think I would always stay on Disney site and use this hotel to extend a time of more relaxing. Beause there is so much to do at the hotel for kids. Also I would only stay here is my kids liked Nick and were between the ages of birth to 12.

Re: Just Stayed At the Nick Hotel

We thought about this place, too. Do they have video game hook-ups in the rooms? If they do, I'm not sure it would be a good place for my 2 boys who are hooked on PS2 when they're at home. I wouldn't want them to get hooked on it when we're on vacation. It was good for them to have a 10 day break from those games and TV. From the commercials I saw of the hotel, it does look pretty cool, though.

Yes they do have PS2 in the room, but there are no games with it. You have to rent them at a rate of $5.oo for 24 hrs. My boys like to play too, but we did not. There was so much other FREE things to do, and I forgot to bring thier games.
