I am SUCH a moron

Remember 2 weeks ago when Pete and I got free tickets to Universal from my aunt's friends? Well they were the last day of a multi-day park hopper pass. After 9 hours of parks, we were ready to go home. But we thought we'd take the tickets to guest services just to make sure there wasn't one more day on it. If there was, we'd have given them to someone outside the gate.

Well, there weren't anymore days left, but they told us that if we came up w/$20 a pop, the tickets could be upgraded to season passes (with many blackout dates, I might add). After everything that went wrong at Universal (I wrote about it in my TR), and not wanting to run up anything else on the credit card, Pete and I decided not to pour $40 more into Universal.

Then I got home and found out that my uncle really wants to do Halloween Horror nights, which I would LOVE to do, and that they are also planning a Universal trip in a few months. It's too late now, I would have had to upgrade on the spot.

I dont think you're an idiot. At least not for this reason. You said you had a lot of problems there, and you didnt really have the $40 to spend. If it was me, I wouldnt have spent the cash on a crappy park.
Its just odd luck that your family wants to go there now; you had no way of knowing that then.
Use the $40 for beer!!!

But seriously, you can never regret a decision based on information that you learned AFTER you made the decision. You and Pete made the best decision based on what you knew at the time. That's all you can do.
