Discovery Cove

Has anyone been to Discovery Cove? It has always been my dream to swim with dolphins, but it is so expensive! Is it worth the very high entrance fee? I would love to hear reviews by anyone who has been there. Is there any way to obtain discounts?

Re: Discovery Cove

Welcome to DC!

We have been to Discovery Cove. We loved it! It was well worth the money. The Dolphin swim was out of this world! We did spend another $250 on photos and a CD (that no one warns you about!) But that was all we spent apart from a "i Swam with the dolphins" T-shirt!
The lunch as lovey the whole place was great. It was very peaceful. There was lots to do to fill the day. My girls want to go back a do trainer for a day (even more money, but more time with the dolphins!) but that will have to wait.
If you need anymore info just ask!

Re: Discovery Cove

WELCOME! My family went in 2003.It was great. We saved it for the end of our vacation. It was so relaxing & fun. There's alot to do for the day. We didn't do the bird thing. Not crazy about birds. The food was good and you get alot. Do you still get passes for seaworld when you purchase? Oh yeah you get a family picture taken for free. That's first thing in the morning.

Thank you for your answers re Discovery Cove: After reading your reviews, I think we will splurge and take our DDs to swim with the dolphins. This website is great: even though I only registered yesterday, I have been reading and following all the threads for on month now, using all the tips to plan our upcoming first trip ever to WDW in October. thank you to everyone!

It's next to sea world.

From the West (Lake Buena Vista/Tampa):

Take I-4 East (toward Orlando) to exit 71. This is the SeaWorld exit.

Bear right onto Central Florida Parkway when exiting ramp.

The entrance to Discovery Cove is on the right hand side of Central Florida Parkway, past the sign for SeaWorld Orlando.
From the North (Downtown Orlando, Universal Studios, Sanford, Deland):

Take I-4 West to exit 72 (Beeline Expressway/FL-528/Airport).

Once on the Beeline, take the first exit (International Drive).

At traffic light, turn left. (You will be driving on International Drive.)

At the second light, turn right onto Central Florida Parkway.

The entrance to Discovery Cove is on the left hand side of Central Florida Parkway.

From the East (Cocoa, Cape Canaveral, Titusville Area):

Take FL-528 (Beeline Expressway) west to the International Drive exit.

Make a left onto International Drive.

Make a right onto Central Florida Parkway at the third traffic light.

The entrance to Discovery Cove is on the left hand side of Central Florida Parkway.

Well, the water is salt water and will be cold.

You might be a little bit cold when coming out of the water when the temp isn't too high.

We went in march so it wasn't cold at all.
